We are truly a Family Yard Haunt. We have 32 different themed rooms/areas, plus a maze to walk through. Kids Day: October 6 from 1pm - 5pm and October 21 from 1pm - 3pm. All Ages welcome. The kids get to walk through the Haunt and collect candy and treats. There are no tricks. We will have treat bags to give to the kids this day. The first 50 kids in Saturday and Sunday will receive a T-shirt. Fright Night: October 13 and 27 from 7:30pm - 11:00pm. Please remember this is for ages 12 and up ONLY. West Virginia Symphony with Lee Greenwood

Grammy Award-winning, singer-songwriter Lee Greenwood is best known for his patriotic anthem “God Bless the USA.” Voted the most recognizable patriotic song in America, “God Bless the USA” has landed in the top 5 on the country singles charts three times (1993, 2001, 2003). Greenwood joins the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra in their performance of “Lee Greenwood: Salute to America,” featuring some of Greenwood’s most famous songs, including “God Bless the USA.” Founded in 1939, the WVSO performs more than 50 concerts annually. WVSO Musical Director Lawrence Loh is in his second season with the Symphony. Loh has an affinity for pops programming and currently leads annual pops programs with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, where he previously served as a resident conductor.

Local individuals, families and businesses have sponsored over 420 lighted holiday displays for your viewing enjoyment. These displays decorate the road around Morris Park located on Pleasant Valley Road in Fairmont. Many people and groups volunteer their time to help with the set up and daily operation of Celebration of Lights event. Each year, over 1,000 hours of volunteer time is dedicated to producing this event for the public. Please come enjoy the displays! The event is sponsored by the Rotary Club of South Fairmont.

2018 Miss West Virginia Scholarship Pageant

The 2018 Miss West Virginia Scholarship Pageant is a three night competition which culminates in the crowing of Miss West Virginia and Miss West Virginia’s Outstanding Teen. To be held in the historic Metropolitan Theater in downtown Morgantown, the event will feature the most beautiful and talented young women from across the Mountain State. Join us for the preliminary competition June 28 and 29 and final competition on June 30. Developed by the Miss America Organization, the Miss West Virginia Scholarship Organization exists to provide personal and professional opportunities for young women and to promote their voices in culture, politics and the community. The program provides a forum for today's young women to express their viewpoints, talents and accomplishments to audiences during the telecast and to the public-at-large during the ensuing year. Almost all contestants have either received, or are in the process of earning, college or postgraduate degrees and utilize Miss America scholarship grants to further their educations.

Kathryn Williamson, Teaching Assistant Professor and Planetarium Director, WVU Department of Physics & Astronomy, will be leading a tour of the night sky. The evening will start with a talk about some of the highlights in the night sky, including planets, star clusters, and galaxies as well as the origins of the Perseid meteor shower which peaks on August 13. This will be followed, weather permitting, with the opportunity to look at some of these objects through telescopes. Wear warm clothes and keep cell phones on “night mode” to preserve night vision.
