This unique WV event is one you probably haven’t heard of

One of the Mountain State’s most unique festivals during the holiday season is the Feast of the Seven Fishes Festival in Fairmont.

The Feast of the Seven Fishes Festival celebrates Fairmont’s strong Italian roots and helps keep those roots alive. This festival also keeps tradition going, in the old country, Italian communities would celebrate Christmas Eve with a traditional feast from red meat and instead focused on abundant seafood while the “seven fishes” comes from a connection to the Catholic Seven Sacraments.

During the festival there, is no shortage of incredibly great food, wine, music of the season and opportunities to shop local artists whose pieces make the perfect gifts for friends, family and even for yourself. On the day of the festival, Dec. 8 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. there will be a street fair, live music and authentic Italian cuisine downtown for a fun and unique experience all around.

In the evening, enjoy a Christmas parade through downtown Fairmont that everyone in the family will love. The Feast of the Seven Fishes Festival is a fun, special and memorable festival that many look forward to each year thanks to the delicious food and incredible memories that are made there.
