Tamarack

Quite possibly the most recognizable location on this list, Tamarack has been providing visitors with arts, crafts, and Appalachian culture for more than 20 years. Tamarack is located just of Interstate 77 in Beckley and is home to unique retail artisan products and incredible dining. Every few months, Tamarack unveils a new exhibit, showcasing works of painters, sculptors, photographers and other mixed media artists. You’re guaranteed to immerse yourself in West Virginia culture with a visit to Tamarack.

Red Caboose

The Red Caboose is located in the heart of downtown Huntington at Heritage Station. No matter your interest, the shop will have something for you. It features works by tri-state artists such as glass, ceramics, fine art, fiber arts, jewelry, books and beauty products – just to name a few. The Red Caboose also holds four artist markets per year in which they invite artisans to sell directly to their customers in a casual atmosphere.

Capitol Market

Located on the outskirts of downtown Charleston, the Capitol Market is a year-round market that features a wide variety of West Virginia gifts and goodies. The market is located at the site of an old train depot that was once a prominent stop along the Kanawha and Michigan Railroad. Today, the market features an assortment of shops that sell items like beer & wine, fresh meat, sushi, candies, produce and other West Virginia goods. There are also several outdoor vendors throughout the year that sell many different items depending on the season.

Kin Ship Goods

Located in Charleston, Kin Ship Goods features apparel, accessories and home goods designed by Dan Davis and Hillary Harrison. Their products feature heavy Appalachian and West Virginian influences, and some of their work has even been featured in Country Living Magazine, Apartment Therapy, Mod Cloth and Design’Sponge!
