Upper Ohio Valley Heritage Italian Festival

The Upper Ohio Valley Italian Heritage Festival is the undisputed Granddaddy of outdoor festivals in this area of the country and one of the largest in West Virginia. 5th Summersville Lake Lighthouse Heritage Celebration & Car Show

Join us for the 5th Birthday of the Summersville Lake Lighthouse Heritage Celebration festivities on Saturday, June 16 from 10am to 6pm on the Lighthouse grounds. Heritage Artisans and Crafters from throughout the state will be showcasing their skills along with live Appalachian music, entertainment, raffles and a Classic Car Show, and K9 Demonstrations. Live entertainment at the Gazebo features EmmaLea Deal from 11am to 2pm, who is headlining the Lighthouse's 5th Birthday Heritage Celebration. The Humane Society and the Nicholas County Animal Shelter will have kittens and puppies available for adoption. All Lighthouse Tours will be $5 per person on the day of the Celebration. West Virginia Mountain State Gospel Singers -June Convention

The West Virginia State Gospel Singing Convention strives to preserve the old-time camp meeting and singing traditions with the annual sings held in June, July, and September. The facility is in the farm section of Nicholas County with approximately 30 acres of beautifully kept grounds. It is a place where families can plan for a weekend of camping with good old fashioned fun or just come for a day and enjoy some of the best of Gospel singers from WV and several surrounding states. Caregivers Rubber Duck Race

The Rubber Ducky Classic is held at the Shepherdstown Town Run off of German Street in Shepherdstown. Each raffle ticket corresponds to a rubber ducky in the race. The rubber duckies are let loose in the Town Run beginning at McMurran Halls Town Run and ending next to the Little House (across from Blue Moon Cafe) in an exciting race for first, second, and third place. Winners receive cash prizes. The last duck finishing wins a special prize! We also plan on having face painting and other activities, such as having access to the Little House on Princess St. This is a great family event to attend in Shepherdstown during the summer, so invite your friends, family, and even your pets. A stereomicroscope can magnify nearly anything by up to about 40x, and a high power microscope can magnify slide-mounted specimens by up to 1000x. Charleston Cycling Classic

Officially permitted and sanctioned with USA Cycling. July 21-22, 2018, the hip, historic city of Charleston, WV, will be the center of a three-event, two-day stage race testing cyclists with an individual time trial, a criterium, and a road race to determine an overall winner. All cyclists will race the same courses for the time trial and the criterium, starting and ending at Haddad Riverfront Park in downtown Charleston, WV. The road races will be contested over three different distances, and will also start and finish at Haddad Riverfront Park.
