White Sulphur Springs

White Sulphur Springs is a unique slice of Almost Heaven located in the New River / Greenbrier Valley travel region. Home to amazing dining, small town shops and adventures around every corner, White Sulphur Springs is a go-to stop on any trip.

Dining

Visit Big Draft Brewing, a White Sulphur Springs favorite that provides the perfect location to find your next favorite beer. Home of many sports bars and grills, Route 60 and 50 East are a few that bring to life every meal. Staying open a bit longer into the night, these spots serve up both finer cuisine and enjoyable treats. If you’re looking for a more mainstream menu, Road Hog’s BBQ or April’s Pizzeria may be the best fit for you. Whether it’s getting a beautiful slice of pizza or ordering mouth-watering ribs, it’s guaranteed that you won’t go hungry in White Sulphur Springs. Set your sights on The Greenbrier to find over 20 diverse dining options, including the colorful Draper’s or the classic Prime 44 West steakhouse.

Entertainment

One of the more unique places to visit for relaxation and entertainment is the Gum Store Studios. With a revitalized building, The Gum Store has now become a home into a home for arts, creativity, and healing. Here you can find artists featured from across the state. If you’d like to listen to music with a drink in hand, Cross Creek on Main is your hub for events in White Sulphur Springs. Located on Main at the heart of downtown and in the former home of the historic Bowling Hardware, this versatile concert hall combines rugged architecture from the 1920s with elegant updates and an open concept. With adjacent access to Big Draft Brewing and The Local Café, catered and full-bar events are a piece of cake for their experienced staff.

Shopping

Take a stroll down Main Street for some unique and specialty shops. The Village Wine Shop is the perfect stop for domestic and international wines along with supplies for the perfect charcuterie board. Shopping lovers can find everything they are looking for among the whimsical halls of The Greenbrier, from resort-ware at Ralph Lauren to locally crafted glassware at Virtu. If you’re with family or a kid at heart, create your own friend at Sugar Bears with stuff-able plush animals as well as pick up some novelty candy or a handcrafted gift.  Visit Hammer Cycles to rent a bike to hit the Greenbrier River Trail for a leisurely afternoon.

Recreation

The Greenbrier River Trail is a 78-mile former railroad now used for hiking, biking and horseback riding. It is the longest trail of its kind in Almost Heaven. The trail provides many breathtaking views as it passes through several small towns, crosses 35 bridges, goes through two tunnels and cuts through some of West Virginia’s most remote areas. Or if you are looking for a unique adventure, from the ancient sport of falconry to scaling a 55-foot tower, Greenbrier Outfitters is a must-visit.

Stay

Summer comes to life at The Greenbrier, America’s Resort. Sip on a refreshing cocktail, explore 11,000 acres of beautiful mountains or test your luck at the on-site casino. The Greenbrier’s excellence is perhaps best defined by their array of restaurants for any palate. Don’t pass up a tour of the once-secret cold war bunker.

If you are looking to decompress with some peace and quiet, the Salt Cave and Spa invites you to a day of pampering and well-being. With diverse services, caring specialists and the purest of products, they strive to create a lasting impression in both relaxation and health renewal. All this is set in a unique earth-friendly underground man-made cave.
