Ranson

Ranson, located in the Eastern Panhandle, is situated right in the middle of the best in entertainment, history, dining and more. This area boasts a casino, a motorsports park, historical sites and quaint shops. You never know what you might find in Almost Heaven.

Dining

Andy’s Pizza has a mission to take care of its customers. Fresh ingredients, friendly staff and a welcoming environment make this pizza place a crowd favorite. Try Peruvian style rotisserie chicken at El Pollon. Their menu offers breakfast, lunch and dinner options.

Entertainment

If you crave excitement and entertainment, look no further than Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races. The casino has slot machines, table games, a poker room and online sports betting. Experience live thoroughbred racing at the race track. The H Lounge at the track and casino also offers free live music every Friday and Saturday.

Feel the need for speed? Summit Point Motorsports Park is the regions premier auto and motorcycle racing facility. The park has three distinct and different courses for you to try – the Summit Point Circuit, Jefferson Circuit and Shenandoah Circuit. Live events are held throughout the year, too.

Shopping

In Ranson, you’ll find fun consignment boutiques, speciality stores and an array of typical brand name stores. Explore 13,000 square feet of antiques at Two Crows Antique Mall. The family owned and operated mall offers finds from over 50 dealers. At Et Cetera you’ll find eclectic home goods and house wares.

Recreation

Enjoy a leisurely walk through Flowing Springs Park. The nearly 30-acre park provides wildlife viewing areas, a pedestrian trail network as well as a bike path. Try casting a line or taking a casual float down the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers.

History

The Eastern Panhandle is rich with American and Civil War history – and Ranson is in the center of it all. Visit John Brown’s Fort in Harpers Ferry or check out George Washington’s bathtub in Berkeley Springs.

Ranson was incorporated in 1910 and named after a local dentist and farmer. Its founders deemed the town to be an ideal place for industry and business, which is exactly what you’ll find here.

Stay

Ranson has your choice of chain hotels like Holiday Inn and Hampton Inn but to be close to all the excitement and entertainment, make the Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races your home away from home. Stay in at room at the main hotel or in a suite near the race track at The Inn at Charles Town.
