West Virginia Celebrates Freedom Pageant

Join us for the West Virginia Freedom 250 Pageant on June 19th at the West Virginia Culture Center in Charleston, West Virginia. This patriotic celebration honors the spirit, strength, and pride of the Mountain State as we commemorate America’s 250th anniversary.

Join the Bell-Ringing Ceremony

As part of West Virginia’s statewide celebrations, we invite churches and communities across the state to ring bells in celebration of the principles of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th at 12:00 p.m. 

Request the Traveling Exhibit

The White House “Founders Museum” exhibit is part of the Freedom250 campaign celebrating the 250th anniversary and can be requested to come to your destination!

Governor’s Poetry Competition

Governor Morrisey invites West Virginians of all ages to submit an original poem celebrating the rich history and shared values of West Virginia and the United States of America. Poetry submissions close June 24, 2026.

Join in America’s Potluck

America’s Potluck is an opportunity for neighbors to come together, share food, and enjoy a sense of community in celebration of America’s 250th birthday. West Virginians are encouraged to host their own community potluck on July 5, 2026.

Submit Recipes to Goldenseal

Goldenseal Magazine is now accepting applications for patriotic recipe submissions in celebration of America’s 250th birthday. Share your favorite recipe with fellow West Virginians for an opportunity to be featured.
