Statewide Bell Ringing
As part of West Virginia’s statewide celebrations, we invite churches and communities across the state to ring bells in celebration of the principles of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th at 12:00 p.m. Participants are encouraged ring bells for 13 tolls, referencing the original 13 colonies that composed the United States. If you would like to participate, please complete this online form, so we can create a map of all the bell-ringing ceremonies across the state!
Bell Ringing Guidelines
Ring bells 13 times, representing the original 13 colonies that formed the United States.
