Fresh Strawberries and Fond Memories Await at the West Virginia Strawberry Festival

Since 1936, the West Virginia Strawberry Festival has worked to honor strawberry growers from all over the Mountain State. At the West Virginia Strawberry Festival, attendees can enjoy a horse and carriage parade, arts and craft show, food vendors, carnival, antique car parade, strawberry recipe contest, Strawberry 5K and much more.

Held the full third week of May each year, this is your chance too indulge in fresh, juicy and delicious strawberries for an entire week. While you’re enjoying the West Virginia Strawberry Festival, take some time to explore charming Buckhannon. Here you can stroll through the beautiful campus of West Virginia Wesleyan College, dine at an array of incredible restaurants like C.J. Maggie’s, Fish Hawk Market and 88 Restaurant & Lounge, do some shopping or visit beautiful Audra State Park. Audra State Park is known for the mighty Middle Fork River and the rock overhang of Alum Cave, which offer beautiful backdrops for any photo.

Catch some sleep at A Governor’s Inn or the Bicentennial Inn while at the festival. Both are conveniently located on Buckhannon’s Main Street, so you’ll be close to all of the action.
