I-79 Welcome Center’s West Virginia Birthday Celebration
I-79 Welcome Center WV Birthday Celebration. June 20, 2018 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. There will be entertainment provided by Norma Rittenhouse, playing the Hammered Dulcimer from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, Greg Short playing and singing from Noon to 1:30. The "Turtle" mascot from The Green Turtle Restaurant will also make an appearance. There will be Pepperoni Rolls, (donated by Chico Bakery) Cupcakes, (donated by Giant Eagle), snacks and candy and water. Free to the public.
Goat Gallop 5K Walk/Run
Enjoy historic Arthurdale dotted with 1930’s New Deal homes and run with the friendly goats! Visit an original homestead, pet the goats, and join us in celebrating homestead life. Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome. All ages welcome with parental permission. All paces welcome in the 5K, there will be an untimed 1-mile Kid’s Race that will start a few minutes after the 5K. Join us after the race for other family fun activities including playing with the goats, games for kids, and much more. Healthy snacks and refreshments to recharge your body will be provided. Visit the historic grounds, run and play with our goats, and join us to celebrate the homestead life with the whole family. Pre-registration rate--$20--available through June 3; registration is $25 after June 3 until race day. Pre-registration guarantees an event t-shirt.
