THOMAS RHETT Thomas Rhett scored his first No. one hit in 2013 with “It Goes Like This," introducing a sound that mixed the southern swagger of county music with pop hooks, R&B grooves, soulful strut, and the anything-goes attitude of rock. Midland is an American country music group formed in 2016 in Dripping Springs, Texas, consisting of Mark Wystrach (lead vocals), Cameron Duddy (bass guitar, background vocals), and Jess Carson (lead guitar, background vocals). In addition to their roles in the band, Wystrach is an actor and model, and Duddy is a music video director. The band has released one studio album, On the Rocks, which has accounted for three charted singles on the Billboard country music charts: "Drinkin' Problem", "Make a Little" and "Burn Out". The band's musical style can be defined as neotraditionalist country.

I-79 Welcome Center WV Birthday Celebration. June 20, 2018 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. There will be entertainment provided by Norma Rittenhouse, playing the Hammered Dulcimer from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, Greg Short playing and singing from Noon to 1:30. The "Turtle" mascot from The Green Turtle Restaurant will also make an appearance. Color Me Au-Some 5K Walk/Run

Participants are plastered with color bombs of dry tempera paint powder at stations throughout the course. Participants are encouraged to wear white t-shirts to engage in the “Color Me Process.” The Color Me Au-Some 5K course incorporates one of the city’s oldest and most recognizable landmarks, the Wheeling Suspension Bridge. The course starts at the picturesque waterfront, goes through downtown, over the Suspension Bridge, around Wheeling Island, back over the Suspension Bridge, and down Main Street returning to the Waterfront. Following the race, participants can enjoy refreshments, door prizes, awards ceremony, and music. Awards will be given to the top 5 female and male walkers and runners, and the top three female and male finishers in the following categories: 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, top finisher in 70+. Children ages 3 & under will pay no registration fee, but parents must register them and sign the waiver. All participants that register as walkers MUST walk. If you register as a runner, you are permitted to run and walk.

Devils Den Bike Fest

The Hatfield McCoy Convention and Visitor's Bureau in partnership with the Hatfield McCoy Recreational Trails and Mountain State Harley Davidson invite you to join us for the 2nd annual Devil's Den Bike Fest from September 21st thru September 22, 2018. The two day event challenges motorcyclists to ride the winding, twisting history ­ packed roads that were once home to "Devil Anse" Hatfield and site’s made famous by the Coal Wars. Riders have the chance to compete for over $2,000 worth of cash and prizes. In addition to the music and food that were popular at last year’s event we will be adding a Poker Run.

West Virginia Mountain State Gospel Singers -June Convention

The West Virginia State Gospel Singing Convention strives to preserve the old-time camp meeting and singing traditions with the annual sings held in June, July, and September. The facility is in the farm section of Nicholas County with approximately 30 acres of beautifully kept grounds. It is a place where families can plan for a weekend of camping with good old fashioned fun or just come for a day and enjoy some of the best of Gospel singers from WV and several surrounding states. Tabenacle with inside seating - ALL SINGERS WELCOME- Campground: Tent, camper, motor home or bus....modern restrooms, showers, limited electric (light, fan & amp; ref. only), dump station, food service available during each singing session. Join us in Eleanor, West Virginia for the First Annual Eleanor JEEPfest for a weekend of Jeeps, fun and friends. We will kick the weekend off on Friday evening with a Show & Shine along with vendors, food, and music. Inaugural BB&T Malden Salt Fest

The Inaugural BB&T Malden Salt Fest will be held October 6th to 8th in Malden at J.Q. Dickinson Salt-Works. There will be music, food, tours, a parade, dancing, crafts, demonstrations, and more! October 6th: Dinner at J.Q. Dickinson Salt-Works for descendants of salt-works owners, workers, and slaves. Tickets will go on sale in September October 7th: The day kicks off at 10:00 a.m. with an old fashioned parade in downtown Malden which will end at J.Q. Dickinson Salt-Works. The day will be full of assorted cultural activities such as lectures, films, music and dancing. There will be re-enacting of the salt making of the original settlers, oral history taking and tours. Appalachian String Band Music Festival

Arts Walk

This year’s ARTS WALK, sponsored by Greater Morgantown Convention and Visitors Bureau, Main Street Morgantown, Monongalia Arts Center (MAC) and Arts Monongahela, will take place on Friday, September 22 in downtown Morgantown. JCJAM3 is a multi-genre music festival held at David Harris Riverfront Park along the beautiful Ohio River. Battle Days Festival

Battle Days is the Commemoration and Memorial of the Battle of Point Pleasant October 10, 1774 between the Virginia Militia and Shawnee confederation of tribes under Chief Cornstalk at Tu-Endie-Wei State Park. Durbin Days

This event is 3 evenings, 1 full day, and a Sunday afternoon of fun, entertainment, and learning for all ages. Various events pit contestants to be the best at horseshoes, tug-of-war, greased pig chase, pet showing, karaoke, hay bale throwing, archery shooting, and running or walking the 5K. There is music, bingo, food, and a carnival every day but Sunday. For Sunday we're planning a community covered dish noon meal and gospel music which is an addition to our festival. Saturday is a day filled with children’s activities, car show/and fireworks interspersed with other events listed above. We also include the Fireman's Parade on Friday and will be holding "Incarcerate a Friend" at the newly renovated town jail on Saturday.

Festival Fridays

Buckhannon is the 'place to be' on Friday nights all summer long and into the fall. Every Friday from June through September, people from all over the state can come to enjoy music, entertainment, demonstrations, food, West Virginia-grown produce, and handmade products. Children's activities will range from face painting to learning to juggle. Some of the items for sale will include local, organic produce, food, jewelry, textiles and hand-carved wood products.

A Service in Memory of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Davis & Elkins College will host a service in memory of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at 3 p.m. Monday, January 16 in Myles Center for the Arts Harper-McNeeley Auditorium. The program will include a scripture reading, music and a showing of an excerpt from “Three Evils of Society.” The Rev. Jeremiah Jasper, pastor of Woodford Memorial United Methodist Church in Elkins, will serve as guest speaker. Davis & Elkins College students also will take part in the program. The ceremony will conclude with a conversation titled “Where do we go from here?” and the lighting of candles for peace. There is no admission fee.

Yosvany Terry Sextet

Born into an illustrious musical family in Camaguey, Cuba, Yosvany Terry is an internationally acclaimed composer, saxophonist, percussionist, bandleader, educator, and cultural bearer of the Afro-Cuban tradition. This Carnegie Hall Mainstage Performance will feature the Yosvany Terry Sextet on Thursday, January 26 at 7:30pm.

11th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr., Day Celebration: “Nonviolence is Courageous”

The Community Coalition for Social Justice will explore the theme of “Non-violence is Courageous” during its Eleventh Annual Martin Luther King, Jr., Day Celebration on Monday, January 16, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at the Metropolitan Theatre, 373 High Street, Morgantown. The program will feature music in the lobby before the event, a welcome by Morgantown Mayor Marti Shamberger; music by the Flying Colors, Morgantown Children’s Choir, the Morgantown Community Orchestra, and the Cheat Lake Elementary School Choir; and a performance by children from the Shack Neighborhood House. Jeremy Thomas will recite sections of Dr. King’s speech “Where Do We Go From Here?,” and Lt. Matt Solomon of the Morgantown Police Department will talk about how “Police Officers are Peace Officers.” Art students from St. Francis Central Catholic School provide posters to publicize the event. The Morgantown Police Department is providing coloring and activity books on “How to Handle Bullying” for the children attending, and Rachel Wood of Virtus Wealth Solutions purchased crayons for them. High school HSTA students will assist at the event. This program is free and open to the public.
