Capital City Challenge Triathlon – Run, Row, Ride

Welcome to the Capital City Challenge! The race consists of a 4.2 mile run, a 4.2 mile row, and a 16.8 mile bike ride all along the banks of the Kanawha River. Individuals and groups of two or three are all encouraged to participate. This unique yet competitive event is designed for competitors of all fitness and skill levels. This family-friendly challenge features music, kids' activities, and great door prizes. Solo and team entries are welcome. THE COURSE The order of the race is RUN (4.2 miles from Magic Island to Daniel Boone Park); ROW (4.2 miles from Daniel Boone Park to Magic Island); RIDE (16.8 miles all on paved roads - a 3 loop course from Magic Island to Veazey Street and back to Magic Island - then repeat). The Start-Finish is at Magic Island which is next to the I-64 bridge along the Kanawha River.

SportsFest

Pro Watercross returns to Charleston in 2018. Events will include the Watercross National Tour and special events, Hydroflight Open Tour, as well the introduction of a new concept in racing — Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP) Closed Course Racing. Pro Watercross SATURDAY, AUGUST 18, 2018 9:15 AM: Practice begins; riders are familiarized with the race. 10:30 AML Amateur racing begins. 12:00 PM: Event prayer, national anthem is played and racing begins. 12:15 PM: Pro and Junior Racing and CBS Sports filming begins. 4:00 PM: Amateur racing continues... SUNDAY, AUGUST 19, 2018 8:15 AM: Roll call for Mandatory riders meeting. 8:30 AM: Mandatory riders meeting and safety briefing. Devotional: Immediately following rider's meeting. 9:00 AM: Event prayer, national anthem is played and racing begins. West Virginia State Grappling Championships

Part of SportsFest. Open To ALL competitors from any gym or state. Adult, Masters, & Children’s Gi & No Gi Divisions. On Saturday, August 18th, 2018 Charleston, West Virginia will, once again, host the official state Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Submission Wrestling State Championships as part of the “West Virginia Games.” The WV Games is a huge event that takes place on Magic Island, which is located on the Kanawha River in the capital of West Virginia and offers a scenic backdrop to a flurry of athletic competitions and events. This is a family friendly event and we encourage all of our competitors to bring their friends and families so they can enjoy all of the other events and activities during the tournament.

Magic Island Easter Egg Hunt

Magic Island Easter Egg Hunt Your favorite Egg Hunt is back again with over 20,000 eggs! The Jungle Island Petting Zoo will be back with kangaroos and other animals for you to feed and interact with and Hoppy's Little Express Train will be giving rides thanks to Kanawha County Parks and Recreation. WQBE and Electric 102.7 will be joining in the Magic with Jams and prizes. Inflatables, face painting, and more!
