Recycled Percussion
Straight outta Las Vegas! This electric show mixes a gritty assault on buckets, power tools and anything else they can get their hands on. Since Justin Spencer formed Recycled Percussion in 1995, the band has been unstoppable. Their junk rock music became a national phenomenon week after week during their smash hit performances on America’s Got Talent in 2009. Playing over 4,000 shows and over 400 corporate events in over 15 countries, the group has also done guest appearances on “Carson Daly”, “The Today Show”, “China’s Got Talent” and the Latin Grammy Awards. After being featured on the cover of “USA Today” and being voted National Act of the Year a record-breaking six times, the band gained world-wide recognition. In 2010, they sealed the deal and became headliners in Las Vegas!
Country Music Day at Adaland
Country Music Day at Adaland features a wide variety of genres of live music on the side yard pavilion. Entertainers have included: Vali Davis; Jay McCung; The Moatsville Boys; Marissa Mallow, Jamie and Daniel Kittle. The music on the pavilion is free and open to all music lovers and those who just want to enjoy a beautiful fall afternoon at the 1870 restored Neo-Greek home. Visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic lunches, or they may reserve a BBQ lunch served at the mansion house until 3 pm. $15.00 each plus tip.
Plays at Adaland
Adaland is most pleased to serve as the showcase for Philippi playwright Alma J. Bennett, who brings one of WV’s important historical figures, Laura Jackson Arnold, the sister of Confederate General Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson, to life in “Dearest Sister”, a one act play that is followed by “Act II.” The plays tell about Laura’s life and relationship with her famous brother. In 1844 when she was 18, Laura married Jonathan Arnold and moved to Beverly. Following the Battle of Rich Mountain in 1861, Federal troops occupied Beverly, a VA town that had strong Confederate sympathies. In stark contrast, Laura Jackson Arnold was an outspoken Unionist, even nursing wounded Union soldiers in her Beverly home. Laura’s Union support created fissures in the once close relationship between Laura and her brilliant Confederate military leader brother. Dessert followed by a live show on pavilion. Adults $15.00.

Jazz at the Stifel presents Don Aliquo Quartet
Some of the region’s top jazz artists perform at the Stifel Fine Arts Center on select Saturdays throughout the year. John Henry Days
John Henry is a beloved folk hero known for having raced against a steam powered drill to prove worth of using the crew of men rather than machine and to hopefully, preserve the rail workers' jobs. He proudly fought and won the epic battle, only to die in victory with his hammer in his hand. His legend is a reminder that America and all of its successes and advancements were buillt by everyday heroes like John Henry. John Henry Days is an annual 3-day festival held on the second weekend of July. The festival starts on Friday night with a concert at the stage near the Great Bend Tunnel and ends on Sunday with the Rubber Duck Race at the Talcott bridge. The Wheeling Jamboree 84th Anniversary
The Wheeling Jamboree has been presented at over 20 different Venues in the greater Wheeling area since it’s inception back in 1933 and the landmark Capitol Theatre is its most widely recognized. On April 15th a Jamboree show is timed to Celebrate the 84th Anniversary of its “first run” at the Capitol along with the shows “Patriarch”, Country Music Veteran Darnell Miller who Celebrates 50 years as a member of the Jamboree this year. A variety of Jamboree Artist Members are appearing on this special event. Performers will include members of the Wheeling Park High School Bluegrass Band along with other special entertainers. One of the finest stringbands on the West Coast! The Foghorn Stringband is steadily proving that American roots music is a never-ending well of inspiration. Onstage, the Foghorn Stringband gathers around one microphone, balancing their music on the fly, and playing with an intense, fiery abandon. Each member comes not only from a different part of the American roots music spectrum, but leads the pack in their field as well. Caleb Klauder’s wistful, keening vocals and rapid-fire mandolin picking are as influenced by Southern roots music as much as by his upbringing in Washington State. Also from Washington, Reeb Willms grew up in the state’s Eastern farmlands singing hard-bitten honky-tonk with her family. Nadine Landry’s roots lie in the rural backroads of Acadian Québec, but she cut her teeth as one of the best bluegrass bassists in Western Canada. Minnesotan Stephen ‘Sammy’ Lind, simply put, is one of the best old-time fiddlers of his generation and has a voice that sounds like it’s coming from an old 78. Annual Belle of Cincinnati Dinner Cruise
The Point Pleasant River Museum is bringing back an evening to remember, reminiscent of the days of the early excursion boats. As the Belle of Cincinnati travels on the beautiful Ohio River, a delicious buffet-style meal will be served and the well-known local singer, Joey Wilcoxon, will be entertaining, furnishing music for dancing or just listening. The cruise is 2 1/2 hours long, leaving the dock at Point Pleasant's Riverfront Park at 7 p.m. Guests need to board by 6:30 p.m. Photographer is available for pictures. Boat has four decks, two of which are accessible by elevator, and one is walk-on. Handicap accessible to wheelchairs and scooters. Tickets are $50.00 for adults and children ages 4-12 are $25.00.

Steel Away
Steel Away is the main full band performance group from CB Studios in Morgantown, WV. The all-female group was formed in 2007 as a class learning how to play steel drums. The group is currently made up of 10 women, ranging in age from 25 to 70, directed by Chanler Bailey. It includes three leads, two double seconds, two guitar/cello, one tenor bass, and two bass. Red Tail Ring
Red Tail Ring is the musical brainchild of two old-time-minded Michiganders – Michael Beauchamp and Laurel Premo. The collaboration blends the loving attention of revivalist fervor with the playful creativity of starting from scratch. Whether rendering a traditional tune or one of their many original compositions, the duo infuses each song with musical imagination, haunting harmonies and instrumental artistry. “We love pushing the boundaries of what a traditional song can be,” says Beauchamp. “It informs how we write our original songs. There’s a real energy exchange between the old and the new.”
