Stoney Creek Bluegrass Band at Tucker County Fair
Stoney Creek Bluegrass Band has been named "West Virginia's Classic Bluegrass Band" by Around the Panhandle Magazine, and praised as "Mainstream Bluegrass at its Best" by Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine. The music ranges from hard driving traditional bluegrass to bluegrass gospel and some slower dance numbers.
Mountain Stage: Livingston Taylor
Livingston Taylor picked up his first guitar at the age of 13, which began a 50-year career that has encompassed performance, songwriting, and teaching. Livingston recorded his first record at the age of 18 and has continued to create well crafted, introspective, and original songs that have earned him listeners worldwide. His musical knowledge has inspired a varied repertoire, and he is equally at home with a range of musical genres—folk, pop, gospel, jazz—and from upbeat storytelling and touching ballads to full orchestra performances. Riverfest
Riverfest has been around for nearly a quarter of a century, and it gets better every year! Enjoy free admission and entertainment. Shop for crafts and visit food vendors. This is an annual 4 day event, along the renovated riverfront, with Live Music on stage. Fayetteville Lion’s Club 4th of July Celebration
Celebrate America’s birthday in America’s coolest small town. We invite you and your family to join our community in celebration and to experience the magic of our small-town Independence Day Celebration. The Fayetteville Lion’s Club will host the 4th of July Celebration kicking off the festivities on the evening of the July 3rd with live music leading into a town-wide celebration on the 4th. This free event features fun activities for the whole family, vendors, food, live entertainment, and more. Enjoy ice cream and a day full of wholesome summer fun. Nothing says summer like a watermelon spitting contest or try your hand at our hula hooping contest, adults are welcome to join. One of the highlights of the celebration is the Fayetteville Lion’s Club 4th of July Parade where you will see an explosion of patriotism with decked out floats. Bring a blanket and stay all evening, relax on the courthouse lawn and enjoy some live music. Do you think you have the best cobbler? Enter our Cobbler baking contest. The festivities will be capped off by a fireworks extravaganza at the Fayetteville Town Park at dusk on 4th. We will have Parade Registration Forms, Cobbler Contest Information and Vendor Forms at the Fayetteville Convention & Visitors Center.
51st Annual Railroad Days
For two weekends in October, the streets are filled with a variety of vendors, great food, live entertainment, and carriage rides through the Hinton Historic District. The Railroad Museum showcases model railroad and John Henry exhibits, photo and art exhibits, and more. New River Train Excursions runs daily trips from Huntington, WV to Hinton, WV each day of the festival.

The Back Porch String Band was formed in Charleston in 1973 and played throughout southern WV. Family and job obligations caused the band to cease playing publicly for 40 years. Now that the band members are retired, they have rekindled their desire to play country, folk, and bluegrass string music and the whole gang will squeeze onto the stage tonight!

The Town of Man is celebrating their 100th Anniversary with a street fair from July 18, 2018 through July 21, 2018. 5th Summersville Lake Lighthouse Heritage Celebration & Car Show
Join us for the 5th Birthday of the Summersville Lake Lighthouse Heritage Celebration festivities on Saturday, June 16 from 10am to 6pm on the Lighthouse grounds. Heritage Artisans and Crafters from throughout the state will be showcasing their skills along with live Appalachian music, entertainment, raffles and a Classic Car Show, and K9 Demonstrations. Live entertainment at the Gazebo features EmmaLea Deal from 11am to 2pm, who is headlining the Lighthouse's 5th Birthday Heritage Celebration. The Humane Society and the Nicholas County Animal Shelter will have kittens and puppies available for adoption. All Lighthouse Tours will be $5 per person on the day of the Celebration. West Virginia Mountain State Gospel Singers -June Convention
The West Virginia State Gospel Singing Convention strives to preserve the old-time camp meeting and singing traditions with the annual sings held in June, July, and September. The facility is in the farm section of Nicholas County with approximately 30 acres of beautifully kept grounds. It is a place where families can plan for a weekend of camping with good old fashioned fun or just come for a day and enjoy some of the best of Gospel singers from WV and several surrounding states. Tabenacle with inside seating - ALL SINGERS WELCOME- Campground: Tent, camper, motor home or bus....modern restrooms, showers, limited electric (light, fan & amp; ref. only), dump station, food service available during each singing session. Two hours of the best in musical entertainment including country, rock n roll, patriotic, and gospel. Dinner will include Italian marinated chicken breast, chopped sirloin, mashed potatoes, green beans, cole slaw, dinner roll, dessert, and beverage. Arrive at 5:30pm ~ Dinner at 6:00pm ~ Show at 7:00pm
