Join us for a weekend that explores the rich heritage of Greenbrier County's past and present. Visit several beautiful homes in the Valley to learn how the area's architecture was influenced, see historic artifacts, private collections and lovely spring gardens.

The West Virginia Jazz Orchestra with a Tribute to 50 Years of GVT

In celebration of their 50th Anniversary Season, Greenbrier Valley Theatre welcomes the West Virginia Jazz Orchestra and guest artists to the stage at GVT. The Subdudes at Carnegie Hall

This Carnegie Hall Mainstage Performance will feature The Subdudes, who over the course of 25 years and 10 albums, have quietly become one of America's national music treasures. The New Orleans-formed group is a living encapsulation of American music, a vibrant cauldron of sounds that stirs together meaty grooves and jazzy dynamics, soulful R&B swagger, easy vocal harmonies, cheeky rock 'n' roll attitude, and folky social consciousness--not to mention some of the sharpest musicianship and ensemble playing you'll ever hear from any five musicians. Lewisburg Literary Festival

A celebration of literature, this two-day event is host to visiting authors, writing workshops, outdoor art, musical entertainment, children’s story time and performance art. 11th Annual Wheels of Hope Ride

This 11th annual race features three routes ranging from 29 to 107 miles, each traversing paved country roads with farmland views and mountain vistas. All rides begin and end in historic Lewisburg, voted "The Coolest Small Town in America" in 2011 by Budget Travel magazine. Ride will begin and end at the WVSOM on N. Lee Street in downtown Lewisburg.

New Voices Play Festival at Greenbrier Valley Theatre

The New Voices Play Festival features eight one-act plays lasting about 10 minutes each, and showcases the Greenbrier Valley’s community actors and directors. There will be a "Pay What You Can" preview performance on Wednesday, February 1 at 7pm.

Bill Staines at The Irish Pub

Wednesday, February 1st, will be a special Whiskey Wednesday for us as we will have the legendary folk musician, Bill Staines, play here starting at 7:30pm. Come out and see this wonderful folk artist 40 years in the making. Singing mostly his own songs, Staines has become one of the most popular and durable singers on the folk music scene today, performing nearly 200 concerts a year and driving over 65,000 miles annually. He weaves a blend of gentle wit and humor into his performances and one reviewer wrote, "He has a sense of timing to match the best standup comics".

WV Jazz Orchestra Veterans Day Concert

The concert will feature jazz favorites and patriotic music. GVT will honor veterans with a slide show of local veterans photos to be played throughout the performance. Greenbrier Valley Theatre is now accepting photos of veterans to be included in the slide show. Submissions should include name(s) of the veteran(s) pictured, rank and branch of service, and years of service....and may be submitted in person or by mail to GVT, 1038 Washington Street East, Lewisburg WV 24901. This Carnegie Hall Mainstage Performance will feature WV's own Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr. Since wowing the America's Got Talent judges with his interpretations of classics by the likes of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin and walking away with the grand prize, Landau has performed all over the country -- from the California State Fair to New York's famous Appollo Theater, from Caesars Palace in Las Vegas to the Marina Civic Center in Florida -- and all points in between.

This Carnegie Hall Mainstage Performance will feature Illstyle & Peace Dance Productions which is a multicultural Philadelphia-based dance company founded in 2002 by Brandon "Peace" Albright. The company creates work rooted in contemporary, West African and old-school hip-hop styles blended with an eclectic mix of dance and performance disciplines including tap, ballet, DJing and beatboxing.

Carnegie Hall Presents: Julie Fowlis – Music of the Scottish Isles

This Carnegie Hall Mainstage Performance will feature Julie Fowlis, a multi-award winning Gaelic singer, who is deeply influenced by her early upbringing in the Outer Hebridean island of North Uist. Fowler is a warm and engaging live performer who has graced stages around the globe, from village halls in the Highlands to theaters in Paris, Vienna, London and New York.

Carnegie Hall Presents Asleep at the Wheel

This Carnegie Hall Mainstage Performance will feature "Asleep at the Wheel". For over 40 years Ray Benson and Asleep at the Wheel have been the chief practitioners, conspirators, and caretakers of Western swing -- carrying Bob Wills' and his Texas Playboys' traditions well into the 21st century -- reaching both their contemporaries and the next generation of artists inspired by the great bandleader.

Greenbrier Valley Chorale Presents Faure’s Requiem

The Greenbrier Valley Chorale will present Faure's Requiem in D Minor with Chamber Ensemble and Soloists. The event is in commemoration of the 15th Anniversary of 9/11 and is in memory of the West Virginia communities devastated by floods and those who lost their lives. Faure said of his most famous work-- "it is dominated from beginning to end by a very human feeling of faith in eternal rest." The concert will be held at the Lewisburg United Methodist Church. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for college students and $5 for children grades K-12, and can be purchased on the Chorale website or at the door. For those who would like to learn more about Faure and his music, there will be a free lectire by Dr. James Caplinger at the church at 1:30pm.

Jewels & Drinks at Greenbrier Valley Theatre

Greenbrier Valley Theatre, the State Professional Theatre of West Virginia, will host a jewelry trunk show in the Daywood Lobby on Sunday, August 28. This event is free and open to the public from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. Jewelry artisan, Alan Anderson, will be at GVT to showcase an eclectic mix of costume jewelry. The 22nd Annual Art Auction will be held at Greenbrier Valley Theatre on Saturday, September 24 starting at 7 p.m. A preview party will begin at 6 p.m.

Greenbrier Valley Theatre’s PB&J Cafe: “Click, Clack, Moo – Cows That Type”

Smucker's PB&J Cafe gives children the chance to experience live theatre. Children are seated at small tables and treated to a dinner before enjoying a charming and entertaining production. This year, Smucker's PB&J Cafe presents a stage adaptation of Doreen Cronin's debut picture book. Farmer Brown's cows discover a typewriter in their barn and decide to tell him how they feel. When Farmer Brown ignores their requests, the cows and all their barnyard friends find a different way to be heard.

Art & Craft Show

Start checking names off your holiday gift-giving list with a visit to the area's largest art and craft fair. A range of wood crafts, candles, jewelry, needle craft, primitives, paintings, baskets and homemade apple butter will be on-hand for purchase. Doors open on Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday, 12 p.m. until 4 p.m.

Greenbrier Valley Theatre presents “Pump Boys & Dinettes”

Pull off the road on Highway 57, order up some spoonbread, some butter beans and corn and top it off with a piece of homemade pie at the Double Cupp Diner. Wheels of Hope Bicycle Ride

All registrations placed before July 1, 2016 will be guaranteed a commemorative t-shirt. Pre-registration and packet pick-up from 4-7pm Friday night at the Historic General Lewis Inn. Saturday morning registration opens at 6:30am on the WVSOM campus. Ride will begin and end at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine on N. Lee Street in downtown Lewisburg. Riders depart at 8am on all routes, which will offer well-stocked rest stops at 20 mile intervals. After the ride, enjoy hot showers and an after party from 2-5pm. Greenbrier Valley Theatre presents Jesus Christ Superstar

Greenbrier Valley Theatre, the State Professional Theatre of West Virginia, proudly presents Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Superstar. This rock opera masterpiece tells the story of Jesus and his followers in a way the Gospels never did. Seen through the eyes of Judas Iscariot, the last days of Jesus of Nazareth come alive through the magic of splendid, haunting 1970's-style rock music.

Wild and Scenic Film Tour

Keen Footwear and the WV Wilderness Coalition presents the Wild and Scenic Film Tour on June 21 at 7pm at the Lewis Theatre in downtown Lewisburg. Nine weeks, 7,500 miles of canyons, petroglyphs, starry nights and breakdowns— in the summer of 2015, we took our 1976 Live Monumental RV on a classic American road trip to protect the places we play. 7,500 miles, 80 pit stops, one national monument designation, and one wilderness designation later, we've created a film to tell the story!
