Spartan Race will be crowning the 2017 Spartan U.S. Championship Series winners AND first-ever age group champions here at the Summit Bechtel Reserve on August 26 and 27, 2017. The Spartan U.S. Championship Series will crown both individual race winners and an overall series champion based on cumulative points earned across the five race series and award more than $100,000 in cash and prizes. The Emmy-nominated series will once again be televised on NBCSN. As the final race in the Spartan U.S. Championship Series, The Ascent presented by Wild, Wonderful West Virginia will bring the most competitive field of athletes to test themselves on the most challenging course of the series. Hatfield McCoy Marathon
The Hatfield McCoy Marathon was founded in 2000 and sponsored by the Tug Valley Road Runners Club. Our inaugural race began with just 13 runners. Now we welcome over 1,000 runners! So, whether you want to complete the full 26.2 miles, 13.1, a double half, or even a 5K, the Hatfield McCoy Marathon has a run for you! Oh yeah, if you are a "50 Stater" you can choose either West Virginia or Kentucky as the race state because you'll be running through BOTH! Ranked one of The Weather Channel's Toughest Marathons, Road Runner Magazine's Most Fun Races, RRCA Championship Race, and Red Bull's Must Have Medals.
40th Annual Ogden Newspapers Half Marathon Classic
The Ogden Newspapers Half Marathon Classic, turning 40 this year is being viewed as a new beginning, as the annual race and associated events are taking an exciting new turn this May. One big change for 2016 will better serve the region's families, as the event will now be held on one day only, Saturday, May 28. The family favorite Friday night events - the Ohio Valley Parent Tiny Tot Trot and the Ogden Fun Run - now will take place Saturday morning, after the start of the Half Marathon and 5K events.
