The State Ballet Theatre of Russia Presents “Swan Lake”

The State Ballet Theatre of Russia brings this Holiday classic the Metropolitan Theatre for the very first time. A ballet featured in four acts with world renowned dancers in an event sure to thrill all this Christmas season. THE WORLD’S MOST FAMOUS BALLET. A leader in classical Russian dance, the State Ballet Theatre of Russia is embarking on a new tour, bringing their excellent rendition of Swan Lake to North America once again. Recognized internationally as the world’s most romantic ballet, this supernatural epic glides to the haunting score of Tchaikovsky, with evocative choreography after the legendary Pepita and Ivanov, including audience favorite, Danse des petits cygnes.

Don Quixote

The Charleston Ballet, West Virginia's State Ballet, presents for the first time on a Charleston stage: DON QUIXOTE! Matadors, gypsies, and windmills take the stage in this full-length ballet based on the famous novel by Cervante. The lively music of Minkus and bravura choreography by Petipa electrifies the story of Don Quixote and his sidekick Sancho Panza on their quest for adventure. Cinderella

Morgantown Dance & Morgantown Ballet Company present “Cinderella” at the Metropolitan Theater in Morgantown, WV. Show times are April 1st at 2:30 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. and April 2nd at 2:30 p.m. TICKETS PRICES: ADULT – $20 per ticket; STUDENT (ages 13-College)/SENIOR (age 65 & up) – $15 per ticket; CHILD (ages 6-12) – $10 per ticket; PRESCHOOLER (ages 5 &under) – $5 per ticket. Only babies who cannot sit in a seat do not require a purchased seat. Music by Sergei Prokofiev. Special guest dancer from the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. First directed by Fiona Morris and performed by The Morgantown Ballet in 1984 and again in 1985, this ballet in three acts will be directed by Director of Community Productions, Desiree Witt, Assistant Director, Marilyn Pipes, and additional choreography by Ashley Manzo.

“Hansel & Gretel”

Youth Organizations United (YOU) is a collaboration between the Appalachian Children's Chorus, the River City Youth Ballet Ensemble and the WV Youth Symphony Orchestra. Combining the talents of almost 200 young singers, dancers and musicians, they will present to you the story of Hansel & Gretel, a well known enchanted fairy tale. Please join us for this wonderful event presented by some of the area's most talented young artists! Tickets may be purchased at the ballet studio or at the door the night of the performance.

Russian National Ballet Theater Presents: Cinderella

With Russia’s finest dancers, Prokofiev’s exuberant music, sumptuous costumes, lush scenery, and comical stepsisters, this performance is a treat for audiences of all ages. The classic fairy tale tells of the virtuous and mistreated servant girl who is magically transformed by her fairy godmother allowing her to attend the grand royal ball. She captures the heart of the handsome prince, but dashes off at the stroke of midnight, leaving only her glass slipper.

Swan Lake is the most enduring and popular of all the classical works. This full-length ballet will be presented to the familiar Tchaikovsky score. Prince Siegried encounters a beautiful princess, Odette, who embodies a woman for a brief time due to a spell cast over her by the evil Von Rothbart.
