Coming just in time for the kids’ winter vacation, the West Virginia Ski Association is providing a passport program that allows any child in the 4th or 5th grades to ski or snowboard for FREE during the 2022 – 2023 season at select resorts.

Canaan Valley Resort

Boasting surreal beauty and nearly fifty trails to explore, Canaan Valley Resort is teeming with opportunity for adventure. Whether you’re an expert on the slopes or just starting out, this resort has something for everyone. Spend the day skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing or tubing at the Tube Park – a family favorite that you’ll keep coming back for.

White Grass

Whitegrass Ski Touring Center & Café has been named one of the “Best Cross-Country Ski Resorts” and rightfully so. Start your day off by taking on a snowshoe-only trail or going cross-country skiing through frosted landscapes. Then, warm up with a bite at their wholesome natural food café with friends and family.

Timberline Mountain

With 1,000 feet of vertical drop and two terrain parks, Timberline Mountain is ideal for shredding the slopes or just learning the ropes. Ski and snowboard at this top-notch resort all while immersing yourself in breathtaking terrain. Also, with both a restaurant and cafeteria in their lodge, taking a break for a bite to eat is made easy.

What You’ll Need

Not sure what to bring along on your trip? It is always a great idea to talk with whom you go with or the destination’s experts, but here is some basic gear you’ll need to bring on your trip. Once you get all this together, you’ll be ready to hit the road – and the slopes!
