CHARLESTON, West Virginia (August 22, 2016) – Wild, Wonderful West Virginia encourages travel and tourism industry partners to submit field trip destinations to be considered as part of an initiative with the West Virginia Department of Education to promote the engaging and educational experiences the Mountain State has to offer students and other groups traveling to and in the state. Interested partners can apply at: GoToWV.com/field-trip-submissions.  The listing is free.

“The Mountain State is home to a diverse variety of attractions that touch on everything from history and science to music and the arts,” Tourism Commissioner Amy Shuler Goodwin said. “Together with our partners, we hope to share all the amazing, engaging and educational experiences Wild, Wonderful West Virginia has to offer.”

“This resource will allow teachers to plan activities that provide our students with real-world experiences which enhance the instruction taking place in the classroom,” said State Superintendent of Schools Dr. Michael Martirano. “The connection from instruction to practical experiences is critical as we ensure our young people are prepared for the 21st century world of work.”

Teachers, group leaders, and others will be able to search field trip listings at GoToWV.com/FieldTrips in the near future.
