West Virginia is Home to the Longest Sled Run on the East Coast
If flying down a snowy hill at 25 mph is your idea of fun, there’s no better place to be than in West Virginia this winter.
Experience the longest sled run on the East Coast for yourself. Located at the beautiful Blackwater Falls State Park in Davis, adventure seekers can race down the quarter-mile run. The thrilling sled run allows riders to travel at a thrilling speed of about 25 miles per hour via sled.
The convenient “wonder carpet” takes you back to the top in five minutes so that you and your friends and family can experience the sled run over and over again.
The sled run is open Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Hungry and thirsty? Don’t worry, there is a snack bar conveniently located in the sled run and is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Test out your sledding skills on Feb. 24 during the family favorite Cardboard and Duct Tape race. Families use nothing but creativity and basic materials to create their own vehicles and to see who will win the coveted fastest sled award. This year’s theme is Looney Tunes!
Blackwater Falls State Park is the perfect winter destination. When are you and your friends & family planning to go?
