Secluded Valley Retreat · River, Hot Tub, 65 Acres

Dry Fork, West Virginia

Settle into a secluded family home where it feels like you have the valley to yourselves. Hidden Valley Farm is a secluded family home on 65 acres along the Dry Fork River, down a quiet dead-end country road in Dry Fork, West Virginia — long views across the fields to the mountains, and no other houses in sight.

The house sleeps 10 across 4 bedrooms (including a bunk room for the kids) with 3 full baths, so it's made for two families, a three-generation trip, or a group of friends. The open first floor runs from a new kitchen through dining and living, warmed by a wood-burning fireplace, then out to a balcony and side deck with a new hot tub and some of the best views on the property.

Timberline Mountain and Canaan Valley Resort are about a 15-minute drive, so you can ski all day and come home to the quiet. In warmer months, walk down through the hayfields to the river to wade, skip stones, or fish for trout; loop the pond; stretch out in the hammock; or take in the valley from the porch. Blackwater Falls, Dolly Sods, and Seneca Rocks are all close by.

It's dog-friendly, and Starlink Wi-Fi keeps you connected even though cell service is spotty up here. This has been our family's farm for nearly 50 years, and it's the kind of place guests tell us they return to year after year.

The space

• Sleeps 10 — 4 bedrooms: two queens and a twin room (the three front bedrooms open onto a shared balcony), plus a bunk room that sleeps 4 at the back. All-new mattresses and cotton linens; a ceiling fan in the primary bedroom. An inflatable twin, a cot, and a pack 'n play are on hand for extra guests and little ones.

• 3 full bathrooms — two fully renovated; the third is off the first-floor mud room.

• New kitchen built for cooking for a crowd — full-size appliances, island, and a dining table that extends to seat 14.

• New hot tub on the side deck, with mountain and field views.

• Wood-burning fireplace, foosball, board games, books, and a smart TV with Roku (stream from your own accounts).

• Mud room for ski and hiking gear, washer/dryer, fire pit, charcoal grill, and a hammock in the oaks.

• 65 private acres on the Dry Fork River, with a pond (Lake Annjorie) and a mowed walking loop.

• Fast Starlink Wi-Fi throughout.

Guest access

Guests have the whole house and all 65 acres to themselves — there are no other homes on the property. Entry is by smart lock; keys are picked up from the MountainTop Realty office on Rt 32, about 15 minutes away.

Other things to note

• No A/C — the mountain nights are cool, and the primary bedroom has a ceiling fan.

• Cell service is spotty in the valley, but the Starlink Wi-Fi is strong — plan to use Wi-Fi calling, and download your maps before you head out.

• The kitchen is well-equipped with cookware and appliances, but bring your own pantry staples (salt, oil, coffee, paper towels) — the nearest full grocery is in Davis.

• Winter: a 4WD or AWD vehicle is recommended; our road is rural, and plowing can lag.

• Dogs welcome ($65 + tax per dog) — the open land and mud room make it easy to travel with them.

• Dry Fork is deliberately about a 3½-hour drive from both Washington, DC and Pittsburgh.
