Camp Virgil Tate

Camp Virgil Tate is primarily a youth 4-H camp that is open for year-round rentals of all kinds. Just 30 minutes from downtown Charleston, we're the perfect place for weddings, family reunions, meetings, retreats, and camps for all ages.

Our facilities include:
four charming cottages that sleep up to 64 people each, a lodge with 24 motel-style rooms upstairs and two large conference rooms with fireplaces downstairs, a dining hall capable of seating 250 people, a gazebo and pond for fishing, barns and show rings for horse camps and equestrian events, plenty of large flat fields for sports events and competitions, several miles of hiking trails, a large Council Circle (campfire area with benches) with seating for 250, two basketball courts, volleyball court, Gaga Ball pit, a disc golf course (check us out on the UDisc app!), an educational high tunnel, an astronomical observatory, … and more!
