Butcher Branch Falls tumbles down a tiered sandstone wall, creating a series of picturesque cascades. Trek about one mile on Butcher Branch Trail from Kaymoor parking area. When the path forks, you’ll want to hang a right onto the offshoot labeled “climbers’ access.” This steep trek down a series of rocky switchbacks will include some minor scrambling – simply follow the sound of the tumbling falls past the rockface, popular among climbers, to find your way. A hidden gem in the New River Gorge National Park & Preserve, these falls are worth the trip for any true waterfall wanderer.
