Burning Rock Off-Road Park

Sophia, WV

Burning Rock Off Road Park is the perfect alternative to your everyday beaten path. The park, located just 3.5 miles from the town of Sophia, is situated on 10,000 acres and offers over 100 miles of trails ranging from the “family friendly” Tams Loop to the “winch recommended, enter at your own risk” favorite The Amazon. There are trails for every type of bike, atv, utv or Jeep and every type of rider from novice to pro. No ride? No problem! Onsite Polaris RzR Rentals are available!!

The 70 acre trailhead is only 15 minutes from Beckley and features a general store, pavilion, campground, rustic cabins, RV hookups, Glamp and Platform tents, showers, restroom facilities and ATV Wash Rack.

There are 5 rustic rental cabins at the Burning Rock Park property. After all, with more than 8000 acres, we’ve got the space. Our cabins are perfect for the group that’s ready for ATV, dirtbike, SxS, Jeep, or 4×4 riding and relaxing. Sleeps up to 5. Our cabins are kept clean and have everything you’d need to keep to enjoy your vacation to Burning Rock. With a kitchenette and full bathroom you’ll have what you need to stay in comfort. The recent addition of our "Bunk House" has proved to be the perfect solution for larger groups.

Our Glamp site offers a rustic feel with some plush amenities. While ultimately the glamp is a wall tent up on a platform it is nicely furnished with a full bed, night stand, and can easily fit an additional cot. The Glamp has a full bathroom equipped with a shower stall, toilet, and sink as well. You’ll also find your own refrigerator and coffee pot. The large covered porch offers a great place to sit and relax and talk about the day of riding.

Easy pull-through parking and close to our always-clean bathhouses, the RV sites at Burning Rock are great for your off road ATV vacation.

Our platform tents are wall tents situated on a wooden platform to keep you up off the ground. The tent comes with cots and has room for an air mattress if that is more your thing. Ideal for those times you just don’t feel like setting up camp or having to crawl around in a tent. Additionally, we have 48 primitive campsites situated close to a clean bathhouse with hot showers.
