Explore the 1930s at Arthurdale Heritage’s New Deal Homestead Museum. Built by the federal government during the Depression to help the long term unemployed, its most devoted supporter was Eleanor Roosevelt, who visited often. Our guided tour takes you inside 5 original buildings including an original homestead house full of items made and used by the homesteaders. The tour also includes our main museum, Blacksmith's Forge, and an interactive exhibit on agriculture and industry. The Craft Shop is overflowing with locally made items including handwoven pieces created by the Arthurdale Weavers. If you can't make the New Deal Festival (2nd Saturday in July) we hold smaller events and classes year round. Come by and make some new friends!
