Canaan Valley Resort State Park

Located on a high plateau in the Allegheny Mountains, Canaan Valley Resort is one of the state’s most magical destinations during the winter months. Thanks to a long-standing partnership with “Challenged Athletes of West Virginia”, Canaan Valley Resort has access to highly specialized equipment such as sit-skies, sliders, and stand-up outriggers. Here, the instructors come with more than 30 years of experience in working alongside visitors with autism, cancer, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, limb amputation and more. Along with ski slopes, the resort also boasts a 10-lane tube park. 

Snowshoe Mountain

A real-life winter wonderland, Snowshoe Mountain is an oasis of winter recreation. From snowmobiling and horse-drawn carriage rides to epic snowboarding and skiing routes, this 11,000-acre property is overflowing with thrilling adventure, delicious restaurants, unique shops and lodging accommodations of all kinds. Also in partnership with “Challenged Athletes of West Virginia”, Snowshoe Mountain offers one-on-one lessons for three and four track skiing, mono and bi-skiing, the visually impaired and individuals with developmental disabilities. 

Timberline Mountain

Tucked within the tiny town of Davis, WV, Timberline Mountain brings big opportunities to travelers with special needs. The adaptive lessons enable guests to develop new skills and build self-confidence while enjoying skiing and snowboarding in a safe environment.
