Zoology Zone Science Center
We offer a variety of educational programming. We are home to over 100 reptiles and amphibians, and serve our community as a reptile and amphibian rescue. Visitors can explore the facility with a self led tour of 30+ animal exhibits, STEM activities, and art stations. There are also sensory exploration areas and quiet play for students who might get overstimulated. When requested, we also provide age appropriate worksheets, experiments, and learning activities for the students to complete during their trip. We are West Virginia’s only reptile sanctuary, and our area’s only tourist attraction of its kind. Students can be exposed to examples of careers in Zoology, Herpetology, and Veterinary Science. Located at 3 Valley Park Drive, Hurricane, WV.
Tourism Field Trip Offering’s
Animal Show
During a field trip, visitors are given a private, hands-on animal show where they are taught about the habitats, behaviors, and characteristics of several different types of reptiles. Students can touch and observe the animals up close.
Age Groups and Other Requirements
We are able to serve all ages, including K-12 groups. We also host special needs classrooms. Our facility is all inclusive and fully wheelchair accessible.
Pricing and Group Sizes
$6.00 per person for groups from 15-70. This is a discounted rate from our general admission for adults.



Educational Benefits
A field trip to our facility offers several learning opportunities that are unique, fun, and engaging. Students will absorb the information and create amazing memories in a creative and exciting environment. Students are exposed to educational areas of Biology, Zoology, Herpetology, Veterinary Science, Art, and more. They learn about animals and their relationship to their environment and ecosystem as well as their relationship to humans through conservation. Animal life cycles, physical traits, adaptations, and behaviors are also areas of interest.
