Festival of India 2018
Ratha Yatra or the Festival of India (Chariots) is one of the world’s oldest religious festivals, originally celebrated in Jagannath Puri. By the mercy of Srila Prabhupada this festival is now being celebrated all over the world. In the summer of 1967, the city of San Francisco saw the Western world’s first Ratha Yatra. Many other swamis and yogis journeyed to the West in the past, but none of them had the vision of Srila Prabhupada: to establish the Krishna conscious culture of ancient India without watering it down. Srila Prabhupada introduced Lord Jagannatha to the Western world and also inaugurated the Ratha Yatra ceremony, in its original format. New Vrindaban will celebrate this international festival for the third year in downtown Wheeling, West Virginia.

Winter Solstice Yoga
During the Winter Solstice, nature takes a long dark pause prior to transitioning into longer days with more light. What a beautiful reminder to also take such a pause in our own lives as we prepare for the transition into 2018. Join Heidi Sherwin for a candlelight gentle yoga class that will include a balance of slow flowing sequences and yin yoga postures, followed by a Solstice Meditation, and ending with a long, deep relaxation. Please bring a yoga mat, blanket, and water. $20 for WVBG members, $30 for non-members. 2nd Annual Pawpawpalooza
Join us for a fun filled day at the park. Rise and Shine 5K starts at 9 p.m. Register at http://www.active.com/moundsville-wv/running/distance-running-races/rise-n-shine-5k-2015?int. The 5K is $20 per person by September 9th and $25 after September 9th. A free 2-3 mile Pawpaw hike starts at 12 p.m. at the Amphitheater and will last roughly 2 hours. Pawpaws will be donated to Brew Keepers for a batch of Pawpaw beer. Enjoy a free yoga session at 2 p.m. with Happy Goat Yoga at the Amphitheater. Music will be provided by Shannon Canterbury at the Amphitheater from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at no charge.
