Wildflower Walk

With local naturalist Ellen Hrabovsky, we will explore the plethora of summer wildflowers found around the reservoir basin. A wildflower book is helpful. All ages. Free. * Please register by August 24. * All activities take place at the West Virginia Botanic Garden, 1061 Tyrone Road, Morgantown, WV 26508 unless otherwise noted. * Free walks and presentations last approximately 1.5 hours. Donations are appreciated and can be made at the Lower Parking Lot Kiosk at any time. * Please refrain from bringing your pet to activities.

Osbra Eye Memorial Wildflower Walks

Hit the trails at Kanawha State Forest for the annual Osbra Eye Memorial Wildflower Walks. One of WV's premiere spring wildflower walks! Multiple hike and leaders. See wildflowers and trees in bloom and learn about the general ecology, insects, and herpetology of the forest. Event includes a Variety of Walks, including Wildflowers, Medicinal/Edible Plants, Trees, Beginning and Advanced Birding. (Be sure to bring a camera & binoculars!). There is also the option of a driving tour. Register at 8:30 a.m. at the swimming pool area. Adults $5; Students under 16, $2. Hot dogs, soft drinks, and cookies for sale. Door prizes, raffle. Walks 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Ramp Dinner/Wildflower Walk/Earth Day Celebration

Join us for the Mason Dixon Historical Park's annual buffet-style Ramp Dinner! From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., we'll be serving up the finest ramp dinner the Appalachian Mountains have to offer. At 1:15, we will begin our wildflower walk. Suitable for all ages! Come celebrate Earth Day with us! Ramp Dinner At the Red Barn at The Mason-Dixon Historical Park features Ramps, Fried Potatoes, Soup Beans, Ham, Salad, Chicken 'n Noodles, Sausage gravy, Biscuits, Applesauce, Corn Bread, Deviled Eggs, Pickled Eggs, Cakes. Deep fried Beer Batter Ramps for $5. Cost - $10 Adult meal; $5 Age 12 & under; Free Age 5 & under with adult. Wildflower Walk - Enjoy the beauty of springtime and follow in the footsteps of history during the Wildflower Walk. The free walk will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the parking lot next to the red barn, the park's main building. •Please, no picking the wildflowers or any of the plants. Wear appropriate clothing and shoes. Camp Creek State Park & Forest Lumberjack Competition & Ramp Fest

Camp Creek State Park & Forest Lumberjack Competition & Ramp Fest will be held Camp Creek State Park Amphitheater. The event will include a free (2 hours)Flower and Bird Walk with Bibbee Nature Club at 8:30 a.m. From 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. - Ramp Feast Sponsored by Camp Creek Foundation. Fee based. From Noon - 3:00 p.m., enjoy a Jack and Jill lumberjack competitions at no charge.
