YMCA River Swim Join us for a 1.6 mile open water swim from the WV State Capitol stairs to Haddad Riverfront Park in conjunction with Sports Fest. Must be 18 to participate. We are doing something a little different with shuttle this year, we will be providing it BEFORE the race so people can swim back to their cars. We will have bag service. Starting point Capital steps; ending point Haddad Riverfront Park Cost: $25 pre-register; $30 day of event Race report time 6:45 AM Race start 7:15AM
Tour de Coal
The Tour de Coal is an annual 11-mile float trip from Tornado to St. Albans, WV. Be part of the biggest flatwater kayaking event in West Virginia history! This year the event is expected to attract over 1,000 paddlers from as far away as California, Colorado, and Florida. The TOUR DE COAL begins at 10am in Meadowood Park. Saturday registration opens at 8am. Come to Meadowood Park first to drop off your kayak, and stop by the CRG River Center cabin to check in (unless you came Friday to the earlybird check-in). Then you'll take your vehicle back to Gateway Shopping Center in St. Albans and ride one of our courtesy shuttles back to the start at Meadowood Park. Early-bird Registration - $20 per person; Registration on July 17 - $25 per person; Additional t-shirts - $15 each.
Anything That Floats River Parade
Put together a team and build your own river yacht and enter it into the Anything That Floats River Parade. That’s right…if it floats, you could win! Prizes for Most Creative, Funniest and Greenest. Life vests required! Don't want to get wet? Then just come on by and look at all the people who do. You don't have to pre-register, but you do need to be at the park at 10:00 a.m. Located at the head of 4 Mile Creek Road, Branchland, West Virginia. Branchland Park is among the most pleasant and accessible points on the Guyandotte River.

The Tour brings together the best professional and amateur athletes in the sport, on the most beautiful beaches and venues in the U.S.A., and offering the most challenging and technical race courses in the world.
