C & D Bunner Family Spooky Yard Haunt
We are truly a Family Yard Haunt. We have 32 different themed rooms/areas, plus a maze to walk through. Kids Day: October 6 from 1pm - 5pm and October 21 from 1pm - 3pm. All Ages welcome. The kids may wear their costumes these days. We ask that no face masks be worn or anything else on their face please! We will have a face painter available free of charge. The kids get to walk through the Haunt and collect candy and treats. There are no tricks. We will have treat bags to give to the kids this day. The first 50 kids in Saturday and Sunday will receive a T-shirt. Fright Night: October 13 and 27 from 7:30pm - 11:00pm. Please remember this is for ages 12 and up ONLY. These two nights are much darker. All ages welcome, but could be scary for young children; Admission Free; Donations Welcome. Please park at Mt. Nebo Church and walk up or park along side the road were the rope lights are located. We are not handicap accessible.

Join Dr. Matt Kassen, WVU Assistant Professor of Plant Pathology, for an in-depth discussion followed by a walk to observe an example on-site at the WVBG. Join WVBG Education Director Erin Smaldone on the first Friday of each month for a short story followed by a walk around the Garden concluding with a simple craft. Earth Day Walk
On the day before Earth Day, join Executive Director Bill Mills for a hike to some of his favorite places in the Garden. Starting at the Welcome Center, we will be crossing the board walk, and into the Rhododendron and Hemlock forest, ending with the Reservoir Loop. Water flow permitting, we may be crossing Tibbs Run. Spring Hill Cemetery Founders Day Program
A walking tour of Spring Hill Cemetery Park and Arboretum with re-enactors of some of Charleston's Founding Figures. The tour will showcase historic monuments with an optional guided history and tree tour. (Parking is limited. Arts Walk
This year’s ARTS WALK, sponsored by Greater Morgantown Convention and Visitors Bureau, Main Street Morgantown, Monongalia Arts Center (MAC) and Arts Monongahela, will take place on Friday, September 22 in downtown Morgantown. Arts Mon, MAC and Appalachian Gallery are information points for the Arts Walk– you can get the inside scoop on where the artists are and what’s happening downtown. Arts Mon is located next to Huntington Bank on the corner of High Street and Pleasant Street. Beginners Guide to Plant Identification
On this walk with Research Botanist Cindy Huebner, participants will be introduced to the basics of plant identification and learn to identify several plant species with a focus on trees and shrubs. Christmas Open House with Santa’s Bake Shop at Adaland
Guests may walk through the house with no admission charge. Guests are offered a free cookie, a cup of coffee, or hot tea while they visit and are welcomed by twinkling lights, red velvet ribbons, garlands, and wreathes as well as Christmas trees in every room. Native Orchids Tour
Guest speaker Charles Garrett will give a photo presentation and talk on native orchids. Followed by a trip to the Cranberry Glades and surrounding area to look at various orchids. Bring a lunch, notepad, and camera. Be prepared for rain and be out all day.

Want to see what it is REALLY like to spend the night in prison – but with no living residents? Enjoy an informative 90-minute guided tour, and then roam the halls on your own. Hours: 11 p.m. – 6 a.m. Admission: $65/person ages 18 and older.
Penitentiary Photography Tour
$100/person Photography License Agreement available Introducing West Virginia Penitentiary’s Photography Tour! This is not a guided tour, you will be roaming at your own pace and leisure after a brief walk-through. The gate will be opened approximately 15 minutes prior to the tour time for check-in. Each photographer is responsible for their own equipment, and is required to sign a waiver/agreement upon check-in. June, July, and August you will be sharing the facility with tour groups. We ask that you refrain from blocking doors and pathways, and keep the floor clear of equipment that may cause a hazard to guests. During your photography tour, you will be allowed access to areas that are not accessible to the public on a regular basis. The areas that are available during a photography tour are as follows: (a map is available upon request) The Sugar Shack The Boiler Room The Infirmary The Psych Ward North and South recreation yards North Hall and New Wall (cell blocks) Visitation Kitchen and Cafeteria You do not have to be a professional photographer to take advantage of this opportunity. Chocolate Fest & Book Faire
From cupcakes to truffles, local and regional authors and chocolate-themed activities, visitors won't find a more decadent or enjoyable festival than the Chocolate Festival and Book Faire April 23, hosted by Main Street Martinsburg. Local businesses throughout downtown host authors for book signings and discussions, as well as display chocolate-themed specials. Guests can also tour a local chocolate shop, sample cupcakes from a cupcake competition and watch "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" throughout this day-long adventure.
West Virginia Botanic Garden Outlander Medicinal Plant Walk
Outlander book fans, this is for you! Claire Randall, a combat nurse from 1945 steps through some mysterious stones and is swept back in time to 1743. Join Kay Jones for a walk through the Garden in search of some of the plants Claire found and learn how she used them to practice her medical profession some 200 years in the past.
