Watoga State Park – (8/13) – MOUNTAIN TRAIL CHALLENGE
Mountain Trail Challenge Half Marathon & 5K Run is a trail running challenge. Two races, both beginning Saturday, August 13th at 8:30 a.m. from the Beaver Creek Campground at Watoga State Park. Age groups are: 14 and younger, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and going strong. Event is sponsored by Watoga State Park Foundation supporting Watoga and West Virginia's state parks mission. Great event, wonderful venue. Chip timing by TriStateRacer Entry Fees: 5K $15 before July 1; $20 from July 1 - August 12. $25 on race day. Entry Fee: Half-marathon: $25 before July 1, $30 from July 1 - August 12. $35 on race day. New River Gorgeous Trail Run
Join ACE Adventure Resort for the 14th Annual New River Gorge-ous Trail Run & Walk. There are three race options – 13.1 mile, 8.5 mile and a 5 mile walk. All the courses wander through deep hardwood forests and offer spectacular views of the New River and the historic town of Thurmond. All participants are welcome to join us for a free burrito lunch during the award ceremony. And yes, we also have hot (or cold) showers available for runners...
