Tour de Coal

The Tour de Coal is an annual 11-mile float trip from Tornado to St. Albans, WV. Be part of the biggest flatwater kayaking event in West Virginia history! This year the event is expected to attract over 1,000 paddlers from as far away as California, Colorado, and Florida. The TOUR DE COAL begins at 10am in Meadowood Park. Then you'll take your vehicle back to Gateway Shopping Center in St. Albans and ride one of our courtesy shuttles back to the start at Meadowood Park. Early-bird Registration - $20 per person; Registration on July 17 - $25 per person; Additional t-shirts - $15 each.

Join us for the inaugural Yak Fest June 15-16 in St. Albans. This new event is in coordination with the highly popular Tour de Coal. Yak Fest is a river-based event and will provide a variety of entertainment options, including a pre-Tour de Coal event and a major downtown-based rib fest, music, and a major display of kayak and river-based vendors showing off the latest in water craft, paddle boards, fishing kayaks, and fishing gear.
