2018 Easter Carnival at the State Capitol

The annual Easter Carnival at the State Capitol will take place Saturday, March 31 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Easter Bunny will be on hand for pictures with children and families. There will be games, face painting, clowns and craft stations for children to enjoy and food stations with hot dogs, popcorn and other snacks. At noon, there will be drawings for children's bicycles. The Easter Carnival is free and open to the public.

The Annual Stand Against Racism Day Program Featuring: The Project on Racism Essay Contest

The MLK Commission, in conjunction with the YWCA Wheeling hosts annually, The Project on Racism Essay Contest that honors the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., while encouraging grades K-12 students’ creativity through essay writing. This year, first, second and third place winners will be recognized and the first place winners will read their essays. The celebration will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 3:30 PM in the Lower Rotunda of the State Capitol. Join Us and Take a Stand!
