These Virginia natives are definitely a local favorite. Their energetic picking and hard hitting harmonies have earned them a respectable place in Bluegrass music and the festival scene, and we’re stoked to bring them back to the Mountain for your listening pleasure.

This not-so-typical family band hails from Lewisburg, WV, in our neighboring Greenbrier County. Their sound is an innovative blend of Americana Roots music and interesting experimentation that’s sure to get your foot tapping and hips swaying.

The Get Right Band has been called “hip-shaking, earth-quaking pure funk fun,” while others have said they have “tight and diverse jams and a distinctive intellectual but accessible world view.” The band is widely recognized as an up-and-coming progressive musical force to be reckoned with and we’re pretty stoked to see what they’re all about.

Three bands for FREE in one night? Yep. Not sure what’s gotten into us, but I am sure you’ll thank us for it later. From a blue-grass tinged joyride straight out of the 80s, to filthy harmonica solos rooted in Appalachia, to the funky “groove machine” that is Pimps of Joytime, there’s bound to be something to get you up and moving!

Ever wanted to go to sleep and wake up back in 1995? Yeah, we have too, and we figured what better way to do that than by hosting the one and only 1990s favorite pop rock sensations, the Gin Blossoms. Go ahead and crimp your hair and break out the JNCO jeans. This is sure to be an epic blast from the past.

The Jakob’s Ferry Stragglers draw freely from old-time, bluegrass, country, jazz, rockabilly and swing styles to create their tight, high-energy string band music. Well-crafted original songs with emotional depth, masterful picking, and resonant vocal harmonies combine to forge new territories and a fresh take on Appalachian Americana music.

J.J. Lawhorn is a singer songwriter whose Country music ambitions have taken him from Virginia to Nashville. His unquestionable southern boy swagger along with his adept ability to express himself through song constructs a live music experience that’s perfect for our little Island in the sky.

Berming Man Banked Slalom

Snowshoe Mountain's first ever "Berming Man Banked Slalom," brought to you by Oakley, is a snowboard derby by design, but a gathering of the snowboard community by default. The two section course will test both speed and grit. Upon leaving the starting gate, riders will drop into a banked slalom section with multiple turns to test the riders' waxing choice and technique. After speeding through the turns, the course will open up into a mogul field we have crowned, the "Boneyard." The top portion of the course will be gated, but the "Boneyard" section will be open to rider creativity and bravery. The contest will consist of the best of two runs. Categories are Men’s, Women’s, Collegiateand Youth (16 and under ). The fastest times of the day take home prizes from event sponsors, along with the inaugural “Berming Man” trophy and the honor of having their photo on display in Old Spruce Tavern for a full year of bragging rights as the fastest snowboarder in West Virginia.

Crescent Ski Council Race

The Crescent Ski Council operates one of the finest amateur ski and snowboard racing programs in the nation. Authorized Clubs of the Crescent Ski Council come from Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and West Virginia and will hold multiple slalom races during this 3-day event at Silver Creek.

Plus, plan to meet adventurous Subaru owners and learn how you can support Avalanche Rescue Dogs. Burton Kid’s Snowboard Camp

Mountaineer Parks and Burton Snowboards are ready and waiting up at Snowshoe Mountain for a total takeover by little shredders! The 3rd annual Burton Kid’s Snowboard Camp is going to be a rippin’ good time and we’re calling all riders ages 4-12 to come on up and ride! Whether you’re a first time snowboarder, or charging it in the park, we’ve got a team of coaches stoked to help you experience snowboarding like never before! This camp is busting at the seams with fun; 2 full days of snowboarding, expert coaching, a pizza party, Burton swag, even an ice cream social. Want to show off all that style? Enter Mountaineer Parks Progression Session park competition and show the Mountain what you’ve got! (Entry in the competition is available at a discounted rate to all camp participants). Progression Session-Snowshoe Mountain

Progression Session Jam is a fun, freestyle learning based event where the competitors will work on fundamentals and improve their park skills with the assistance of some awesome coaches and the Mountaineer Park staff. Judging will be based off of how much heart, attitude, and dedication the rider shows and how much they progressed throughout the event.

Cupp Run Challenge

This is one of Snowshoe’s oldest traditions. Conquer the steeps of the legendary Western Territory in this giant slalom race. Multiple classes for ski and snowboard.

Snowshoe Winter Brew Fest

Sample more than 50 beers from local favorites to nationally recognized award winners, all while enjoying the funky sounds of Optimus Rift and Lewisburg’s own The Spanglers.
