Mountaineer Strong Race
Join us in Almost Heaven--West Virginia--and flex those mountaineer muscles. For the inaugural Mountaineer Strong, racers will whitewater raft with a guide on Class III-V rapids down the New River, mountain bike on amazing trails in the New River Gorge, and trek through the beautiful ACE Adventure Resort property. This Appalachian state, covered with rugged mountains and river valleys, has long been known for its epic outdoor pursuits. Once you finish this race, we hope you’ll have a deeper understanding of WV’s state motto: Montani Semper Liberi (“Mountaineers are always free”).
11th Annual Wheels of Hope Ride
This 11th annual race features three routes ranging from 29 to 107 miles, each traversing paved country roads with farmland views and mountain vistas. All rides begin and end in historic Lewisburg, voted "The Coolest Small Town in America" in 2011 by Budget Travel magazine. Ride will begin and end at the WVSOM on N. Lee Street in downtown Lewisburg.
Crescent Ski Council Race
The Crescent Ski Council operates one of the finest amateur ski and snowboard racing programs in the nation. Authorized Clubs of the Crescent Ski Council come from Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and West Virginia and will hold multiple slalom races during this 3-day event at Silver Creek.
Wheels of Hope Bicycle Ride
This 10th annual race features three routes ranging from 29 to 107 miles, each traversing paved country roads with farmland views and mountain vistas. All rides begin and end in historic Lewisburg, voted "The Coolest Small Town in America" in 2011 by Budget Travel magazine. All registrations placed before July 1, 2016 will be guaranteed a commemorative t-shirt. Pre-registration and packet pick-up from 4-7pm Friday night at the Historic General Lewis Inn. Saturday morning registration opens at 6:30am on the WVSOM campus. Ride will begin and end at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine on N. Lee Street in downtown Lewisburg. Riders depart at 8am on all routes, which will offer well-stocked rest stops at 20 mile intervals. After the ride, enjoy hot showers and an after party from 2-5pm. GREAT BUFFALO CANOE RACE
Calling all kayak and canoe enthusiasts! It’s time for the Annual Great Buffalo Canoe Race. Registration starts at 8 am at Hough Park and the race begins at 9 am. The race ends at the walking bridge in Farmington and there’ll be a small reception at the Farmington Fire Dept following the race. Must have a life jacket and children under 15 must have a waiver signed by an adult.
2017 Tour de Lake Mountain Bike Race
The 20th riding of the Tour de Lake is the opening race event for the WV Mountain Bike Assoc points series and the USA Cycling West Virginia Mountain Bike State Championship and qualifier for the USAC Mountain Bike Nationals located in 2017 at Snowshoe Mountain Resort. Located at one of the premier trail destinations in West Virginia, the Tour de Lake at Charles Fork Lake has a rich history of mountain biking dating back to the early 1990's. On Saturday, March 25th, the event begins with a USAC Short Track Race at the Ben's Run Trails at Chestnut Ridge Winery. On March 26th, the premier event of the Cross Country (XC) race begins at noon.

Zombie Run
Get ready to run for your life as zombies have been unleashed at ACE Adventure Resort this Halloween. Compete in a 5k run where you will encounter obstacles and the undead ready to eat your brains. Can you escape the feeding frenzy and finish the race or will you end up becoming a zombie yourself? Prizes for the top finishers who survive the course. Want to be undead? Sign up to be one of the zombies and let us give you a horrific makeover complete with blood bath. Prizes for the zombies who claim the most victims.
