13th Annual West Virginia Hot Dog Festival

A full day of live entertainment, music, amusements, and contests for you, the family and the family dog! Our Tri-State area is home to an unusually large number of hot dog businesses, many decades-old, family-owned businesses that shine as beloved, true traditions! We invite you to come to Downtown Huntington as we collect a dozen of the area's top hot dog businesses, and put them in one location. We welcome you, your family, and the family dog to come to our annual WV Hot Dog Festival to enjoy contests and competitions, live music and entertainment all day, displays, prizes, demonstrations, crafts, shopping, car and truck shows, and to sample all of these wonderfully delicious hot dogs (as much as you can eat!) in one location for the entire day at Pullman Square! Come treat yourself (and your little dog too!) to our annual WV Hot Dog Festival! This year is the 13th Anniversary! Ohio River Festival of Books

The Ohio River Festival of Books, September 26 – October 1, offers a week of literary presentations and programming to the public in local schools, library branches, and retirement communities. Our goal is to bring books to life and create a life-long commitment to literacy and learning in all ages. Our week long celebration culminates with an evening showcasing Curtis Sittenfeld, Friday, September 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the Pullman Plaza Hotel. Sittenfeld is the author of the bestselling novels Sisterland, American Wife, Prep, and The Man of My Dreams, and her newest novel Eligible was voted the hottest romance of the summer. Followed by our all-day event Saturday, October 1, also at Pullman Plaza Hotel from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. We will feature authors Rajia Hassib, Carine McCandless, Sam Quinones, Cat Winters, and Ashley Wolff. There will also be a writers Discussion Panel Authors & Social Responsibility featuring authors Sarah Einstein, John Van Kirk, & Joseph Wyatt. An all-day writer’s workshop with Bram Stoker Award-winner Michael Knost and a performance of Alice in Wonderland by the Brightstar Theatre Troup and the region’s largest used book sale. Our closing program Saturday evening, is brought to us by New York native Chip Kidd, award-winning graphic designer and author of Judge This. WV Hot Dog Festival

The 2016 West Virginia Hot Dog Festival will be held from 8am to 6pm on Saturday, July 30, at Pullman Square and 3rd Avenue in downtown Huntington. The 12th Annual Festival will offer hot dogs from a dozen of the top hot dog businesses traditional Huntington and West Virginia. The WVHDF will have a classic & custom car and truck show, kids activities, demonstrations, exhibitions, along with retail and craft shopping. Don't forget about the ever-popular WV Hot Dog Festival Wiener Dog Races! Families love the "all-breed" exhibition races, the dog costume contest, hot dog eating and root beer chugging contests, "bun fun" games, and much more!
