MURDER IN MAUI Interactive Mystery Dinner

SOUTHERN COALITION FOR THE ARTS PRESENTS - MURDER IN MAUI The ARTS is continuing its 2018 season with murder and mystery at one of Logan County's finest establishments! A perfect way to spend a balmy June evening: good food, interactive drama, and a side of murder and mystery. Prizes will be awarded for the best detectives and the best costumes! So, come dressed in your favorite luau or tacky tourist gear and see if you can guess whodunnit! It all starts at 7p.m. on Friday, June 29th. Tickets are $35 for singles and $60 for couples.

Ogden Newspapers Half Marathon Classic, 5K Run & 5K Walk for Health, Kids Fun Run & Tiny Tot Trot

Half Marathon Run Saturday, May 26, 2018 @ 8a.m. This challenging course is well known for its changes in elevation. The Half Marathon Run will have prizes (for male and female) for the Open division. The Half Marathon Walk prizes also are for the Open division. Race towels, bottled water and fresh fruit will be available to participants. Participants will receive one food voucher. Pre-registered participants are guaranteed a Dri-fit shirt. Half Marathon Run Relay Saturday, May 26, 2018 @ 8a.m. Half Marathon Run Relay prizes are for the top three teams of Male/Male, Male/Female, Female/Female. Transportation is provided to and from the transfer point of the race. Race towels, bottled water and fresh fruit will be available to participants. Participants will receive one food voucher. Pre-registered participants are guaranteed a Dri-fit shirt. 5K Run/Walk For Health Saturday, May 26, 2018 @ 8:15a.m. Ogden Newspapers 5K Run/Walk For Health prizes include Open division prizes. Ogden Fun Run Saturday, May 26, 2018 @ 8:20a.m. Ogden Fun Run (Ages 12 and under), on a new course that will start at the Half Marathon Start/Finish line and finish on Water Street. $15 entry fee includes T- shirt & finish award ribbon. Pre-registered participants are guaranteed a T-shirt. Parents are encouraged to run with their children at no cost, or pay the $15 fee and receive a T-shirt. Tiny Tot Trot Saturday, May 26, 2018 @ 9a.m. Ogden Tiny Tot Trot Sponsored by: Ohio Valley Parent Magazine. On Water Street, near Heritage Port. Ages 5 and under. Four- and 5-year-olds run first, followed by 3 and under. No entry fee. Registration starts at 8a.m. on Water Street. All entrants will receive finish award ribbon. Course will run along Water Street. The Ogden Newspapers Half Marathon Classic Walk will start at 7:30a.m. on Saturday May 26th followed by the Half Marathon Classic Run at 8a.m. The 5K will follow at 8:15a.m. The Fun Run will follow at 8:20a.m. The Tiny Tot Trot will follow at 9a.m. This challenging Ohio Valley course is well known for its changes in elevation. Fayetteville’s Nature Scavenger Hunt

In celebration of the New River Gorge Wildflower Weekend, Fayetteville is having a town-wide nature scavenger hunt April 26th -29th. For a cool new way to discover historic Fayetteville, look no further than your phone. To join us on this interactive scavenger hunt you will need to download the Klikaklu app. (free) This Scavenger Hunt will give residents, visitors, families and friends an opportunity to uncover clues that will lead them on an adventure discovering the nature that Fayetteville has to offer. We encourage everyone and all ages to participate, you can explore solo or compete as a team or family. Fayetteville’s First Annual Egg Decorating Contest

The Fayetteville Convention & Visitors Center is egg-cited to announce its first Egg Decorating Contest. Kids of all ages are welcome to participate and we will also have a category for adults. The winning eggs in each category will be displayed at the Fayetteville Easter Egg Hunt and awards and prizes will be presented after the egg hunt on March 31st.

2017 Ohio River Ferry Boat Festival On The Long Reach

*THIS YEAR’S FESTIVAL TAKES PLACE FROM JULY 28-30, FRIDAY, SATURDAY, AND SUNDAY! 2017 marks the 200th year that a ferryboat service has been operating out of either Fly, Ohio or Sistersville, West Virginia. In 2015, Monroe County, Ohio and Tyler County, West Virginia came together to celebrate this connection- now known as the Sistersville Ferry- with the first ever Ohio River Ferryboat Festival…. The event was an outstanding success and was built upon during the 2016 festival. The Ohio River Ferryboat Festival offers food, vendors and crafts, and entertainment along both ferryboat landings (Sistersville, WV and Fly, OH). For an affordable fee, visitors can take the ferryboat back and forth between states, winning prizes just for riding. This year’s festival is being planned for Friday, July 28, Saturday, July 29, and Sunday, July 30. Vendor setup is free. Entertainment is free. Bastille Day Waiter’s Race

The French Goat presents our 2nd Annual Bastille Day Celebration! DJ Blaw Knox $5 Glasses of Bubbles or Rose Waiter’s Race starting at 5:30pm – Sign up for the waiter’s race in front of the restaurant. Wear your work uniform. Bring a cocktail tray. Miss Teen International Pageant

The Miss Teen International® Pageant system has been developed to promote today's teens, ages 13-18, and their accomplishments. Around the world women are finding this system to be the opportunity to work with others to become positive role models. Being the premiere pageant for young women has given Miss Teen International® a chance to open doors for all teenage women around the world. The event will give each contestant the opportunity to learn about customs and family life in other countries along with the chance to share her beliefs and make plenty of new friends during the entire week of activities leading up to two exciting nights of competition. Prizes and scholarships will be awarded to the winning contestant.

Good Grand Prix

Teams of four people (18-years and older) will be racing in relay heats on a blocked-off section of Hale Street. One team member will ride, while another helps push, guide and / or steer toward the handoff with waiting team members who will finish the heat in the same fashion. While motorized vehicles are not allowed, teams can use children's tricycles, bicycles (no larger than 18") Big Wheels, or create their own "anything rolls" contraption to compete. Helmets are required and part of the fun. Team entry fee is $60 (with pre-registration). Teams supply their own contraption for the event, one "vehicle" per team. Awards given for fastest two teams; best team t-shirt; best team helmet and best decorated "vehicle." Teams may also choose to donate their bikes, trikes or Big Wheels to Goodwill Industries KV following the event. Mountain Quilt Quest – “Birds of a Feather, Quilt Together

West Virginia's Mountain Quilt Quest's theme for 2017 will be Birds of a Feather, Quilt Together. Visit WV Mountain Quilt Quest for more details. Come and join us for a winding adventure through the nature-filled hills of West Virginia. This 2 week event filled with fabric, fun and prizes will indulge your love of quilting while you enjoy the natural beauty of our State. Each of the 11 quilt shops will provide a complimentary block pattern; as well as offer the option of purchasing their project kit. When you have collected all quilt block patterns from each of the 11 shops you will be able to create a wonderful quilt as a memory of your journey. Each shop will have a door prize drawing so be sure to register at each one as you visit. This year's theme fabric 'Birds of a Feather, Quilt Together' is specially designed by West Virginia artist Dorothy Post Swick from Bridgeport. Our block patterns are created by West Virginia Eileen Farren from Kenova.
