Kids’ Container Garden: Awesome Blossoms for Mom

Join us to decorate a cheerful garden pot filled with spring flowers for Mom, Grandma, Aunt, or a special friend in honor of Mother’s Day. Participants will also learn about West Virginia’s Anna Jarvis, who organized the first Mother’s Day service, and make a heartfelt card to include with their gift. Led by WVBG Educator Stacy Clovis-Woofter, this workshop is most appropriate for children ages 4 and older. Please pre-register for ALL activities 48 hours in advance at www.wvbg.org. $10 for members; $15 for non-members. Space is limited, register today! All activities take place at the West Virginia Botanic Garden, 1061 Tyrone Road, Morgantown, WV 26508 unless otherwise noted. Park in the lower parking area. Walks and presentations will last 1.5-2hrs and are free of charge unless otherwise noted. Donations are appreciated and can be made online, or at the kiosk by the lower lot. Please refrain from bringing your pet to activities.

Mother’s Day Weekend at Cass Scenic Railroad State Park

It doesn't get much better for Mom or the special women you celebrate with on Mother's Day Weekend - A meal at the Last Run Restaurant that Mom doesn't have to prepare or clean up after! The Last Run Restaurant at Cass Scenic Railroad State Park is preparing a $15 special meal ( Fried Pork Chops, Scalloped Potatoes, Buttered Peas, Roll, a drink and dessert) on Mother's Day Saturday, May 13 with dining hours from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Live music by Black King Coal is part of the Saturday evening entertainment. Make a weekend of it at Cass! Rent a company house on Friday and Saturday. Two night rentals of a company house includes two Saturday Special Dinners at the Last Run Restaurant! Yum! Reserve a house soon as they fill up quickly. Mother's Day Sunday features a dinner special of 3-piece fried chidken, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, roll and a drink, $15 per person. Mom's dinner includes dessert when purchasing the Mother's Day Special. Sunday hours begin at 10:30 a.m. until closing. Sunday church services are open to the public at Cass Methodist Church, 8:00 a.m. Trains are running this weekend on the Cass Scenic Railroad.
