Maple Sugaring Day at Oglebay

EVENT DETAILS Experience the history of maple syrup production at Oglebay Institute’s annual Maple Sugaring Day. Begin by learning techniques Native Americans and early pioneers used to gather and make maple syrup as you are guided from station to station along the trials. Modern methods of sap collection will also be demonstrated. Finish your tour with a hot pancake breakfast in the Camp Russel dining hall. The 40 minute tours depart every half hour beginning at 9 a.m. from Camp Russel in Oglebay. Last tour leaves at 12:30 p.m. Advance registration is encouraged. Cranberry Shindig 30 Year Celebration

This traditional Appalachian festival features local artisans to demonstrate and sell their goods from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Demonstrations and goods including blacksmithing, spinning wheel, fly tying, wood turning, wood sculptures, dulcimer making and demonstrating, homemade soap, fudge, honey, maple syrup, and much more. We have limited space.

2016 Mountain State Maple Day

On March 19, 15 maple producers and their partners from all across West Virginia will open their doors to the public. You’ll have a chance to see how the sweet water is harvested and turned into marketable products. You can sample the goodness, sit down for a maple meal, and purchase your favorite maple merchandise. The WV Maple Syrup Festival in Randolph County is also taking place on March 19. 2nd Annual WV Maple Day Festival

Come to Grant County, WV to enjoy the 2nd annual WV Maple Festival.   The South Side Depot in Petersburg, WV houses the Grant County Tourist Information Center, CVB and Chamber office and is the "hub" for Grant, Hardy and Pendleton counties during the WV Maple Festival.   Stop by for a map to participating sugar camps, enjoy a WV Food tasting, maple products, WV made crafts and of course Maple Donuts!
