Fourth of July in Ripley
Join 'America's Largest Small-Town Independence Celebration.' A full day includes the Little Patriots Hour with superheroes, Firecracker 2-Miler Race, and Grand Parade. Free concerts include the Ladies for Liberty Andrews Sisters tribute), Parrots of the Caribbean (Jimmy Buffet tribute), and Dwight Icenhower (Elvis tribute). The free show is capped by the 10 p.m. fabulous fireworks.
Classic Rock & Comedy
The free show on the lawn of the Jackson County Courthouse begins with festival favorite Phil Dirt & The Dozers. Funnyman Bil Lepp is next on stage followed by Surf's Up, a tribute to The Beach Boys.

Nashville's Dave & Daphne, comedian Jacob Hall and Rick K & The Allnighters perform a free evening of entertainment on the lawn of the Jackson County Courthouse.
Charleston Metro Bands Concert
A free outdoor concert on the lawn of the Jackson County Courthouse features patriotic marches, Broadway tunes and movie hits.
Kanawha Kordsmen Concert
Making their Ripley debut is The Kanawha Kordsmen. The group has been specializing in the barbershop-style music for more than 40 years. The Kordsmen represent the Greater Kanawha Valley Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. More than two dozen voices will join for a free outdoor concert on the lawn of the Jackson County Courthouse Square in Ripley.
GSC Bluegrass Band
Glenville State College's Bluegrass Band will perform a free concert at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 24 in the historic Alpine Theatre. Seating is limited to 120.
Afternoon With Mark Twain
American author and humorist Mark Twain will be portrayed by Doug Riley of Tunnelton as part of the West Virginia Humanities Council's History Alive program. The pen name for Samuel Clemens, Twain is known for works such as The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Ironically, he died April 21, 1910. The free performance is in the historic Alpine Theatre, 210 W. Main Street in downtown Ripley.
Mark Twain Afternoon

Storyteller Granny Sue leads the "Do You Believe?" ghost walk, a 1-mile stroll through downtown Ripley. The lantern tour features tales of local history such as WV's last public hanging and the tragic death of the town's namesake, Harry Ripley. Veterans Day with Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr.

Alpine Theatre 80th Anniversary
Alpine Theatre is a 120-seat venue that has been the site of entertainment since the 1930s. Part of the WV Historic Theater Trail, the 80th anniversary celebration includes a special showing of Disney's 1937 classic, "Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs." The show will have 1937 ticket and concession prices and special guests. It is located across from the Jackson County Courthouse at 210 W. Main Street in Ripley.
3rd Annual Mini Con

Race to the Chimney
Santa has a full day planned in Ripley. It begins with "Race to the Chimney," a 5K race and 1.5 mile fun walk at 10 a.m. to benefit "America's Largest Small Town Independence Day Celebration." The town's annual Christmas parade will follow at 11 a.m. After the parade, the kids may visit with Santa in the historic Alpine Theatre. Main Street Ripley will have it's annual Frosty Snowball Drop with specials from Ripley merchants. Free showings of the popular holiday comedy "Elf" are scheduled in the Alpine Theatre at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Ripley Veterans Day
The famous Clydesdale horses will be leading the Veterans Day Parade at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 11 in Ripley. The Military Honor March, which includes poster-sized photos of veterans from the Civil War through the current era, is a highlight of the parade. The parade will be followed by a ceremony led by local veteran's organizations at 11 a.m. Former P.O.W. Jessica Lynch is the guest speaker. A patriotic concert will follow from courthouse gazebo.

Storyteller Granny Sue and the Jackson County Players theatrical troupe share local legends including the untimely death of the town's namesake, Harry Ripley, and West Virginia's last public hanging in 1897. Walks begin at the Jackson County Courthouse at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21 and Saturday, Oct. 22.
