Downtown Throwdown – BBQ & Brewfest

Our premier fall event in downtown Parkersburg has quickly become the Downtown Throwdown BBQ and Brewfest. Our Brewfest features many of West Virginia’s craft beers. Attendees will have the option to purchase various BBQ and other food items from their choice of food vendors. Most vendors accept cash only, but there are ATM’s in the vicinity of the event. At the end of the evening, attendees are encourage to cast their vote for the favorite BBQ item in the ballot box at the main gate. At the end of the evening, our winner will be announced and receive their award. Local entertainment provides this event with the atmosphere to sit back, relax and enjoy the evening. This event is made possible with the support of the Parkersburg Jaycees and other sponsors.

Bastille Day Waiter’s Race

The French Goat presents our 2nd Annual Bastille Day Celebration! DJ Blaw Knox $5 Glasses of Bubbles or Rose Waiter’s Race starting at 5:30pm – Sign up for the waiter’s race in front of the restaurant. Wear your work uniform. Bring a cocktail tray. Mountain Quilt Quest – “Birds of a Feather, Quilt Together

West Virginia's Mountain Quilt Quest's theme for 2017 will be Birds of a Feather, Quilt Together. Visit WV Mountain Quilt Quest for more details. Come and join us for a winding adventure through the nature-filled hills of West Virginia. This 2 week event filled with fabric, fun and prizes will indulge your love of quilting while you enjoy the natural beauty of our State. Each of the 11 quilt shops will provide a complimentary block pattern; as well as offer the option of purchasing their project kit. When you have collected all quilt block patterns from each of the 11 shops you will be able to create a wonderful quilt as a memory of your journey. Each shop will have a door prize drawing so be sure to register at each one as you visit. This year's theme fabric 'Birds of a Feather, Quilt Together' is specially designed by West Virginia artist Dorothy Post Swick from Bridgeport. Our block patterns are created by West Virginia Eileen Farren from Kenova.

Deep Roots Mountain Revival 2017

The festival takes place in Masontown, WV on the legendary Marvin’s Mountaintop providing a picturesque setting for three-days of camping, dancing and relaxing with friends. Patrons will be treated to top-tier Americana, Bluegrass, Rock and Jam music with regional visual artists, craft vendors and family-friendly activities. Children 10 and under are free. And new for 2017 – kids ages 11-15 are $50. Join us for another incredible weekend of camping, rhythm, roots, family, and fun!

Boots – Brews – BBQ

BOOTS-BREWS-BBQ will offer 30+ crafts Beers, dig into some amazing local BBQ pop-ups and listen to live music by Mark Bray and the Steel Soul Cowboys. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the event. Ticket gets you 10 pours of brews. Additional ticket for $12.50 may be purchased for additional pours of brews at the event.

Capitol Theatre Comedy: Bill Engvall

ILL ENGVALL Bill Engvall is a Grammy nominated, multi-platinum selling recording artist and one of the top comedians in the country. Most recently, Bill was a contestant on season 17 of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, and as a fan favorite, he made it to the finals. Earlier this year, Bill lent his voice to the animated comedy series Bounty Hunters, which aired on CMT. He previously starred in, and executive produced, the TBS sitcom The Bill Engvall Show. Bill was part of the enormously successful Blue Collar Comedy concert films, which sold over nine million units and received a Grammy nomination. He also starred on the WB’s hit sketch comedy show Blue Collar TV and in several solo specials for Comedy Central. In 2012 he reunited with Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy on the Them Idiots Whirled Tour, which aired as a special on CMT. Bill’s first album, Here’s Your Sign, is certified platinum and held the #1 position on the Billboard Comedy Chart for 15 straight weeks. His second album, Dorkfish, also debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Comedy Chart, as did his subsequent comedy albums. Bill has written several books, including his 2007 autobiography Bill Engvall –Just A Guy. A native of Galveston, Texas, Bill moved to Dallas and worked as a disc jockey with plans of becoming a teacher. While in a nightclub one evening, he tried his hand at stand-up comedy and found that making people laugh was truly his forte. Soon after, he moved to Los Angeles and went on to star in the Showtime special, A Pair of Joker’s, hosted A&E’s Evening at the Improv and appeared on The Tonight Show and Late Show with David Letterman. In 1992, Bill won the American Comedy Award for “Best Male Stand-up Comedian.” He appeared in several episodes of Designing Women and co-starred in Delta and The Jeff Foxworthy Show. Bill resides in Southern California with his family.
