51st Annual Railroad Days
For two weekends in October, the streets are filled with a variety of vendors, great food, live entertainment, and carriage rides through the Hinton Historic District. The Railroad Museum showcases model railroad and John Henry exhibits, photo and art exhibits, and more. New River Train Excursions runs daily trips from Huntington, WV to Hinton, WV each day of the festival.
Potomac Eagle Scenic Railroad – Fall Foliage Trips
Our regular excursion is a 3-hour trip that goes southbound through the Trough to Sycamore Bridge and back. (It is approximately 35 miles round-trip.) There is no layover; passengers stay on-board. Fall foliage Trough Trips are offered every day October 1-28: Monday-Friday at 1pm; Saturdays and Sundays at 10am & 2:30pm, except Sunday, October 28, Trough Trip is at 1pm (final day of the season). Reservations highly recommended; required for Club Car service. Book online or by phone.

South Side Depot – Fall Train Rides
Petersburg Fall Foliage Specials in Grant County, WV: These 1.5-hour round-trips depart the South Side Depot in Petersburg and go north to south Moorefield. A great express trip to see the fall foliage!
