Stoney Creek Bluegrass Band has been named "West Virginia's Classic Bluegrass Band" by Around the Panhandle Magazine, and praised as "Mainstream Bluegrass at its Best" by Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine. The music ranges from hard driving traditional bluegrass to bluegrass gospel and some slower dance numbers.

Summersville Lake Lighthouse Festival & Car Show

Join us for the 5th Annual Summersville Lake Lighthouse Festival on Saturday, August 25th, from 10am to 6pm on the Lighthouse grounds. Cabela's is the Official Sponsor of the Event and will be on hand all afternoon teaching archery this year. Tamarack Artisans and Crafters from throughout the state will be showcasing their skills along with live Appalachian music, great food, entertainment, raffles and a Classic Car Show. Live entertainment at the Gazebo includes EmmaLea Deal 11am to 2pm, who is headlining for “Rudy Elvis” performing from 3pm to 5pm. The Humane Society and the Nicholas County Animal Shelter will have kittens and puppies available for adoption. All Lighthouse Tours will be $5 per person on the day of the Festival. New this Year will be Gotcha! Archery Games which features Archery Tag, $5 per player per game or $15 for unlimited. Don't forget to stop at the booth to sign a card for a soldier from WV Ambassadors for Adopt A US Soldier and sign up for a membership with the Air Evac Life Team who will have their 16' Air Evac Helicopter on display. Face Painting, Balloon Animals and Henna Tattoos by Paint MisBehavin' is new this year along with Woodbine Jams & Jellies and LuLaRoe. Back again by popular demand is the Almost Heaven Sunset Slush, Dickies BBQ and the Rolling Stove. The Cruise In that was held during the 2015 festival drew over 55 Classic Hot Rods and Vintage Automobiles from every era. Farthest driven was Kenny Smith's pristine 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS from Akron, Ohio. Crowd favorite was Bill Bibb's 1953 Rolls Royce Silver Dawn from Oak Hill, West Virginia. 2016 was our 1st Car Show which was a success. The Best of Show was Chris Kappler's 1937 Packard from Oak Hill and the Best Classic was Oak Hill's Bill Bibb with his 1929 Lincoln Continental. This year we are again listed on the National Street Rod Associations Calendar of Events for West Virginia. Last year we had over 130 classics and hot rods. As there are only 130 spaces available for 2018 Summersville Lake Lighthouse Festival & Car Show. Those of you planning to show your ride should not delay in contacting our office to register for this year and "Save the Date! August 25th". Summersville Lake Retreat Representatives will be picking the "Best of Show" and a Celebrity from WSAZ TV 3 will be picking the winner of the "Best Classic", Cabela's will be picking the "Best Truck" and United Bank has sponsored the "People's Choice" Trophy. We will also be having a "Kid's Choice" Trophy sponsored by Summit Racing Equipment for the first 50 kids to pick their favorite vehicle.

The Town of Man is celebrating their 100th Anniversary with a street fair from July 18, 2018 through July 21, 2018. 2017 Ohio River Ferry Boat Festival On The Long Reach

*THIS YEAR’S FESTIVAL TAKES PLACE FROM JULY 28-30, FRIDAY, SATURDAY, AND SUNDAY! 2017 marks the 200th year that a ferryboat service has been operating out of either Fly, Ohio or Sistersville, West Virginia. In 2015, Monroe County, Ohio and Tyler County, West Virginia came together to celebrate this connection- now known as the Sistersville Ferry- with the first ever Ohio River Ferryboat Festival…. The event was an outstanding success and was built upon during the 2016 festival. The Ohio River Ferryboat Festival offers food, vendors and crafts, and entertainment along both ferryboat landings (Sistersville, WV and Fly, OH). For an affordable fee, visitors can take the ferryboat back and forth between states, winning prizes just for riding. This year’s festival is being planned for Friday, July 28, Saturday, July 29, and Sunday, July 30. Vendor setup is free. Entertainment is free. Classic & antique vehicles will be featured throughout the Historic Downtown Buckhannon District (Main Street) both Friday and Saturday evenings. ShockaCon Horror/Sci-Fi Convention

Celebrity Guests: Celebrity guests Zach Galligan (Gremlins), Steve Johnson (Ghostbusters), Camille Keaton (I Spit on Your Grave), Oliver Robins (Poltergeist), and Mountain Monsters John Tice, Willy McQuillan, and Wild Bill will be presenting panels and demos and signing autographs all weekend. The TriState Transylvanians, who produce shadow casts of The Rocky Horror Picture Show and other classics, will stage an original narrative produced via a mash up of cult films, and River City Youth Ballet Ensemble will demonstrate how to do the Thriller dance! The weekend has a slew of interactive and educational events, including acting, fx makeup, home haunt prop building, costuming and cosplay, paranormal investigation, and the procedures and practices of embalming - there is truly something for everyone! There are chances to win fabulous prizes in many contests, such as the adult and kid's costume contests, scream contests, and mummy wrapping, and unique shopping with specialty vendors. ShockaCon is a perfect event for families. Blackwater Falls State Park – STORIES & SONGS of the HOLIDAY SEASON

Here we come A-caroling! with Jeff Seager and Susanna Holstein. Sing along and learn the stories behind our favorite carols, from ancient ballads to popular modern songs. Open to the public. Animal shelter donations in the form of dog food, cat food, litter, toys, leashes, bedding will be accepted and donated to the Tucker County Animal Shelter. Call for story and song times. Murder Mystery Dinner Train

“Doggy Don’t” There have been several reports of a poltergeist on the Highland Express and a group of ghost chasers have been contacted to exorcise this nuisance. This spirit won’t go without taking someone with it and the Gang may have met their nemesis. But they won’t go down without a fight and few puppy treats – there will be ghostly gender confusion, there will be imaginative weapons, there will be hare brained schemes, and most importantly, murderous mayhem will abound. DISCONNECT from the world and be in church on Sunday morning. DISCONNECT from electronic devices- put the phone away and get out and play. GOTCHA! Archery provides a free event the first Sunday of every month to encourage kids to put down the electronics and get outside and be active. Stay in touch to learn the location for each month's event. July's event will be at the River Walk Trail at West Virginia Wesleyan College.
