Kids’ Container Garden: Awesome Blossoms for Mom

Join us to decorate a cheerful garden pot filled with spring flowers for Mom, Grandma, Aunt, or a special friend in honor of Mother’s Day. Participants will also learn about West Virginia’s Anna Jarvis, who organized the first Mother’s Day service, and make a heartfelt card to include with their gift. Led by WVBG Educator Stacy Clovis-Woofter, this workshop is most appropriate for children ages 4 and older. Please pre-register for ALL activities 48 hours in advance at www.wvbg.org. $10 for members; $15 for non-members. Space is limited, register today! All activities take place at the West Virginia Botanic Garden, 1061 Tyrone Road, Morgantown, WV 26508 unless otherwise noted. Park in the lower parking area. Walks and presentations will last 1.5-2hrs and are free of charge unless otherwise noted. Donations are appreciated and can be made online, or at the kiosk by the lower lot. Please refrain from bringing your pet to activities.

Green up your winter blues! Beat the winter blues with some garden-related activities! Help us shell beans and shuck corn for the museums Interpretive Garden, make a cornhusk doll, propogate a baby plant, and get garden advice from a Master Gardener.

Holiday Ornaments from Nature

Just in time for holiday gift-giving, join WVBG Educator Stacy Clovis-Woofter to craft unique ornaments from natural materials. A special children’s holiday story will be read, with hot cocoa and cookies to enjoy. Most appropriate for children ages 3 and older. $15 for WVBG members, $20 for non-members. Friday Family Walk

Join WVBG Education Director Erin Smaldone on the second Friday of each month for a short story followed by a walk around the Garden concluding with a simple craft. This easy, casual walk is a great way for children and their caretakers to get outside and enjoy nature and the company of others. The trail will accommodate “off road” strollers. All ages. Free. Holiday Make-It Take-It Tuesdays

Winter holidays, fun, and crafting, oh my! Join us as we celebrate the winter season with a simple make-and-take craft project available each Tuesday during the month of December. This is an informal drop-in event, so you can assemble your craft at the library or take it home and work on it there. Stop by any time throughout the day to get your craft kit.
