Fayetteville Lion’s Club 4th of July Celebration

Celebrate America’s birthday in America’s coolest small town. We invite you and your family to join our community in celebration and to experience the magic of our small-town Independence Day Celebration. The Fayetteville Lion’s Club will host the 4th of July Celebration kicking off the festivities on the evening of the July 3rd with live music leading into a town-wide celebration on the 4th. This free event features fun activities for the whole family, vendors, food, live entertainment, and more. Enjoy ice cream and a day full of wholesome summer fun. Nothing says summer like a watermelon spitting contest or try your hand at our hula hooping contest, adults are welcome to join. One of the highlights of the celebration is the Fayetteville Lion’s Club 4th of July Parade where you will see an explosion of patriotism with decked out floats. Bring a blanket and stay all evening, relax on the courthouse lawn and enjoy some live music. Do you think you have the best cobbler? Enter our Cobbler baking contest. The festivities will be capped off by a fireworks extravaganza at the Fayetteville Town Park at dusk on 4th. We will have Parade Registration Forms, Cobbler Contest Information and Vendor Forms at the Fayetteville Convention & Visitors Center.

Wheeling Feeling Chili Cookoff

Since 2002, the Wheeling Feeling Chili Cookoff has been a summer staple at Heritage Port in Downtown Wheeling. The event — always held the first Saturday in June — features live music on the riverfront, classic car show, and plenty of food and drinks for the whole family to enjoy. Attendees can buy tasting tickets to sample the dozens of chilis and salsas prepared by the contestants. The Wheeling Feeling Chili Cookoff offers a beautiful venue and easy access from Interstate 70. Cooks can enter the following categories: red chili, chili verde, salsa, and homestyle. The event is an official International Chili Society (ICS) competition. The ICS is a nonprofit organization that sanctions chili cookoffs with judging and cooking rules/regulations. The events are worldwide and benefit charities and nonprofit organizations. All winners of ICS-sanctioned cookoffs qualify to compete for cash prizes and awards at the World’s Championship Chili Cookoff held each year in October. The ICS is the largest food contest/festival organization in the world.

The Greenbrier Concours d’Elegance

The Greenbrier Concours d'Elegance is a unique celebration of the automobile and its prominence in the history of America's Resort. Saturday, May 5 is Car Club Day, and admission is free for patrons. Sunday, May 6 is The Greenbrier Concours d'Elegance. One hundred of the finest collector cars in America will be on display and up for judging on the grounds of the golf course. Wheeling Heritage Classic Car Show

5th Summersville Lake Lighthouse Heritage Celebration & Car Show

Join us for the 5th Birthday of the Summersville Lake Lighthouse Heritage Celebration festivities on Saturday, June 16 from 10am to 6pm on the Lighthouse grounds. Heritage Artisans and Crafters from throughout the state will be showcasing their skills along with live Appalachian music, entertainment, raffles and a Classic Car Show, and K9 Demonstrations. Live entertainment at the Gazebo features EmmaLea Deal from 11am to 2pm, who is headlining the Lighthouse's 5th Birthday Heritage Celebration. The Humane Society and the Nicholas County Animal Shelter will have kittens and puppies available for adoption. All Lighthouse Tours will be $5 per person on the day of the Celebration. Come out and spend the day with us!

Summersville Lake Lighthouse Festival & Car Show

Join us for the 5th Annual Summersville Lake Lighthouse Festival on Saturday, August 25th, from 10am to 6pm on the Lighthouse grounds. Cabela's is the Official Sponsor of the Event and will be on hand all afternoon teaching archery this year. Tamarack Artisans and Crafters from throughout the state will be showcasing their skills along with live Appalachian music, great food, entertainment, raffles and a Classic Car Show. Live entertainment at the Gazebo includes EmmaLea Deal 11am to 2pm, who is headlining for “Rudy Elvis” performing from 3pm to 5pm. The Humane Society and the Nicholas County Animal Shelter will have kittens and puppies available for adoption. All Lighthouse Tours will be $5 per person on the day of the Festival. New this Year will be Gotcha! Archery Games which features Archery Tag, $5 per player per game or $15 for unlimited. Don't forget to stop at the booth to sign a card for a soldier from WV Ambassadors for Adopt A US Soldier and sign up for a membership with the Air Evac Life Team who will have their 16' Air Evac Helicopter on display. Face Painting, Balloon Animals and Henna Tattoos by Paint MisBehavin' is new this year along with Woodbine Jams & Jellies and LuLaRoe. Back again by popular demand is the Almost Heaven Sunset Slush, Dickies BBQ and the Rolling Stove. The Cruise In that was held during the 2015 festival drew over 55 Classic Hot Rods and Vintage Automobiles from every era. Farthest driven was Kenny Smith's pristine 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS from Akron, Ohio. Crowd favorite was Bill Bibb's 1953 Rolls Royce Silver Dawn from Oak Hill, West Virginia. 2016 was our 1st Car Show which was a success. The Best of Show was Chris Kappler's 1937 Packard from Oak Hill and the Best Classic was Oak Hill's Bill Bibb with his 1929 Lincoln Continental. This year we are again listed on the National Street Rod Associations Calendar of Events for West Virginia. Last year we had over 130 classics and hot rods. As there are only 130 spaces available for 2018 Summersville Lake Lighthouse Festival & Car Show. Those of you planning to show your ride should not delay in contacting our office to register for this year and "Save the Date! August 25th". Summersville Lake Retreat Representatives will be picking the "Best of Show" and a Celebrity from WSAZ TV 3 will be picking the winner of the "Best Classic", Cabela's will be picking the "Best Truck" and United Bank has sponsored the "People's Choice" Trophy. We will also be having a "Kid's Choice" Trophy sponsored by Summit Racing Equipment for the first 50 kids to pick their favorite vehicle.

WV Hot Dog Festival

The 2016 West Virginia Hot Dog Festival will be held from 8am to 6pm on Saturday, July 30, at Pullman Square and 3rd Avenue in downtown Huntington. The 12th Annual Festival will offer hot dogs from a dozen of the top hot dog businesses traditional Huntington and West Virginia. The WVHDF will have a classic & custom car and truck show, kids activities, demonstrations, exhibitions, along with retail and craft shopping. Don't forget about the ever-popular WV Hot Dog Festival Wiener Dog Races! Families love the "all-breed" exhibition races, the dog costume contest, hot dog eating and root beer chugging contests, "bun fun" games, and much more!

Celebrate Princeton

Downtown Princeton comes alive with a street fair filled with food, vendors, crafts, music and children's activities such pony rides, bounce houses, face painting and more. A car show will also feature classic cars from the old day.
