2018 West Virginia Book Festival

Meet your favorite authors at this free, two-day celebration of books, reading, writing and creativity. Visit the Children’s Word Play area, see authors and vendors in the Festival Marketplace and find a bargain in the giant Used Book Sale (Saturday only). Activities and events for all ages. WV Symphony presents: Lee Greenwood, Salute to America

Lee Greenwood is an award-winning country music icon known for the most recognizable patriotic song in America, God Bless the USA. This Academy of Country Music Male Vocalist of the Year's CD "American Patriot", went platinum in just three months. Greenwood will perform with the WVSO at the newly remodeled Charleston Civic Center with special VIP seating and hospitality tables on the arena floor.

WV Home Show 2018

WV Home Show 2018The Home Builders Association is the proud sponsor of the WV Home Show. The West Virginia Home Show is the largest exhibit of its kind in the State of West Virginia, and one of the largest in the Eastern United States. Over 250 exhibitors set up in the Charleston Civic Center. The show offers everything from bricks and sticks to furnaces and flowers to computers and wiring. Mountain East Conference Men’s & Women’s Basketball Tournament

The Road Show

WV Hunting & Fishing Show

Each year in January, we present the West Virginia Hunting and Fishing ShowSM at the Civic Center in Charleston, West Virginia. All proceeds, except for costs to run the show and club operating expenses, are donated to programs that promote or protect hunting, fishing, wildlife, conservation, and related educational activities. We only solicit vendors of high quality products and services related to the sport of hunting and fishing. The show features exhibitors from as far away as Alaska, New Zealand, Spain, and Africa, plus the United States and Canada. We are all 100% volunteers. In conjunction with the show, we run the West Virginia Whitetail Hall of FameSM. The West Virginia Whitetail Hall of FameSM provides an opportunity for individuals to bring their West Virginia deer trophies in for official scoring and to display the largest racks harvested. You may bring as many mounts in to be scored as you wish. Bring your tags for the deer for official WV DNR scoring. Capital City Art and Craft Show

Nearly 160 creative artisans display treasures from traditional to contemporary for sale including jewelry, pottery, photography, fine arts, stone and metal sculpture. For many customers it’s an annual ritual to spend a day here, seeing their favorite exhibitors and meeting new ones, buying new works including gifts for the approaching holiday season. The show will feature artisans from seven states. The Country Kitchen will be offering delicious fall favorites and vendors will provide specialty food items.

Capital Classic Volleyball Tournament

The Capital Classic will kick off on Friday, Sept. 2. The WVU-Marshall match up at 7:30 p.m. that day will highlight the event as the Mountaineers look to defend the Golden Ball Trophy after winning a five-set thriller in Morgantown in 2015.
