Join Secretary Gayle C. Manchin, Emmy Award-winner Deborah Novak and the Charleston Ballet at the premiere screening of “Andre Van Damme and the Story of the Charleston Ballet”. This film follows the journey of Charleston Ballet founder Andre Van Damme, from his roots in the Brussels Royal Opera, his journey to America and the manifestation of his vision for a professional ballet company in 1956. Three-time Emmy Award-winning director Deb Novak weaves a tale of dedication, passion and an enduring commitment to enriching the cultural life of our region. The opening reception beings at 6:30 pm, followed by a 7:30 pm screening. The film is approximately 1 hour long. Black-Tie optional. ADMISSION:Adults - $25; $30 at door | Student/Senior - $20; $25 at door Classic, Country and Rock ‘n Roll will be a mixed-bill performance featuring POULENC PIANO CONCERTO, a contemporary work created in the classic style; SQUARE DANCE, a bluegrass piece of "toe-tapping fun" choreographed to Senator Robert C. Byrd's fiddle music; and a new rock 'n roll ballet! Dancers from the Columbia Classical Ballet will join the Charleston Ballet for an evening of great dance entertainment! Two shows: Oct. 20 and Oct. 21
