St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl

Join us from 6 PM to 2 AM on Saturday, March 17 for our 7th Annual East End St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl! Crawl between five East End pubs near the intersection of Washington St., East and Elizabeth St. from 6 PM - 11 PM, and three more great pubs at the corner of Leon Sullivan Way and Lee St. from 10 PM - 2 AM. Enjoy food and drink specials, live Celtic music from FOOTMAD, the Shamrock Challenge with a bunch of great prizes, a Pub Crawl T-shirt and drink koozie, and more! Once again, we've worked with the State of WV and the City of Charleston to fully shut down Washington Street, East from Sydney Ave. to Maxwell Street to ensure a safe and fun crawler experience for everyone!

FOOTMAD presents Téada from Dublin, Ireland

As part of the 3rd annual Celtic Calling festival, Téada brings the authentic music of Ireland to Charleston's downtown art scene. Téada, now firmly established as one of Irish music's leading exponents on the international world music stage, continues to be driven by a fascination with the timeless, expressive force of traditional tunes inherited from previous generations of musicians. Since 2001, Téada, has evolved to frequent headline performances at major music festivals throughout the US, Canada, Europe, Israel and Australia. Beer Tasting at OI: Irish Beer & Live Celtic Music

Beer Tasting at OI: Irish Beer & Live Celtic Music beginning at 6:30 p.m. $35/$30 OI members. Register online or call 304-242-7700. Find your “Kiss Me I’m Irish” t-shirt. Then, come celebrate with the Irish and Irish-at-heart. If you’re tired of celebrating St. Patrick’s Day by standing around a crowded bar drinking light beers with green food coloring, grab your friends and join us at our annual Irish beer tasting event. Hang out in one of the coolest old mansion’s in Wheeling. Ample supplies of Irish ales, IPAs and stouts are served along with Irish foods. And, live Celtic music knocks the moss off your Blarney Stone! More than just a beer tasting. . . Oglebay Institute’s beer tasting events are must-attend social gatherings for craft beer enthusiasts in the Wheeling area. During the events, you can also view the art exhibit on display in the gallery and explore the elegant mansion. During warm weather, stroll through the sculpture gardens. You can purchase your favorite brews to take home, too. Most of all, unwind and have fun. Although events begin at 6:30 p.m., you can arrive early to meet the friendly staff. And, at some events, guided tours of the art exhibit are offered at 6 p.m. Discover new beers. Socialize with friends. Explore one of Wheeling’s grand, historic properties and view interesting and thought-provoking art at OI’s popular beer tasting events.

Celtic Calling

Different venues in downtown Charleston will host a variety of events, activities and shows, including Celtic music, a Celtic cooking class, 5K run/walk, Irish dance, library programs, and a sheep petting zoo. Visit the Charleston CVB event page for event times and details.

Annual Aurora Barn Dance

Join the Aurora Project for the Annual Aurora Barn Dance! Enjoy an afternoon of music and dancing, featuring Born Old and Aurora Celtic. There will be a silent auction, and refreshments will be provided. Admission is free for children under 10.
