Cookies & Canvas Library Event

Come join us for our Cookies & Canvas Painting Event with Deborah Ross Smith as our Paintbrush Social Instructor! Create a painted masterpiece on canvas, while nibbling on a sweet treat. All supplies included (paint, canvas, and sweets). Be sure to wear clothes to paint in! Participation open to adults of any age and children 13 and older. Cost is $35 per person, cash only (call with any questions). Limited space, must pre-register & pre-pay by June 4th by calling 304-737-1551. A Screening of Vietnam: West Virginians Remember, a documentary from West Virginia Public Broadcasting

A documentary from West Virginia Public Broadcasting featuring the experiences of 5 West Virginia combat soldiers. Per capita, West Virginians served the most and died the most in Vietnam. It lives on as America’s most controversial war – with questions unanswered, lessons not learned, and for veterans who survive, including thousands of West Virginians, haunting memories remain. The Holocaust: A Personal Story

Presenter Jenniffer Weber shares how she began studying the Holocaust and the importance of Holocaust education. From a life-changing trip to Israel to volunteering with Classrooms Without Borders, Weber’s experiences show the lasting impact of this tragic chapter in history. Her slide show will offer a glimpse into the life of Holocaust survivor Magda Herzberger, including passages from Magda’s own books. An inspiring and eye-opening program.
